Of course there will be concessions, the UK and the EU have their RED LINES, but the UK can not sell out the fishermen and OUR FISH in OUR WATERS, the UK alone must decide on parts of the economy that gets government support due to COVID - 19.  Also the European Court of Justice can not be part of the deal.   Both sides need to sell the deal as a victory, otherwise it will be torn apart by those that oppose the deal or wanted to REMAIN within the EU.  Time is short, the Diplomats must get to work.

At least with modern technology the UK and the EU can discuss the details of any agreement by seeing the other side, and can they be trusted, the French are pushing for fish concessions that they have NOW, that is a no go for the UK Government.  The EU wants an agreement that makes sure that the UK and the EU have the same regulations, that is doable if left a bit fuzzy, the ECJ can not have a role in this agreement, that is NO GO FOR for the European Research Group.   That leaves open how to enforce the deal, that takes trust, at this moment this blog does not trust EU as far as it can throw it, intense talks ahead.

There seems an awful lot of deadlines in these talks between the UK and the EU, it this it, next Tuesday, I will not hold by breath, it depends what concessions the EU demanding, and what will the UK give for a free trade deal.  As a vaccine for COVID - 19 is around the corner, the issue of Brexit will get more attention.  The main sticking points for the UK is that the UK should have control over our FISH in OUR WATERS.  The French from reports are still demanding a massive concessions for French fishermen, this should get a firm NO from the UK, these endless games must stop, one does not want to be here on December 31st discussing this again.

Starmer, Corbyn and the Labour Party - Sir Keir Starmer Era

Another good day for Sir Keir, he is seen as taking on the LEFT of the Labour Party, that will do wonders for his poll ratings, while he would gain even more if he threw the 32 Labour MPs and Peers out of the Labour Party who are on the extreme left.  It should be recalled that the PM removed the whip from over 20 MPs and they got the chop at the 2019 General Election because they did not have the Conservative symbol by their name.  Every Labour Leader has to fight the left, Tony Blair was hardly a friend of the TUC and the Labour Left but he did win three elections.  Sir Keir Starmer has taken the right path for a future PM of the UK.

UK/EU Talks suspended due to COVID 19 FEAR - Health/Transitional Phase

Call this blog a bit cynical, but why NOW has someone from the EU side come back with COVID - 19.  Of course it could be above board, so one hopes everyone is well, on the other hand it could be the EU playing games, trying to force the UK to extend the talks and negate the 31st December deadline.  The PM himself is in isolation, at least we saw a pic of the MP who has the virus.  The PM should call in his team via Zoom or other technology and decide the issue once and for all, if the talks are going well then, we carry on, if not pull the plug.  This blog is for pulling the plug, the talks have become a FARCE.

Corbyn and the Labour Party - New Era under Sir Keir Starmer

This was a bold move by Sir Keir, if he had done nothing then the Labour Party would not have recovered, now it has a fighting chance in 2024, the leaders has to face down the extreme let of the Party, if that means a full civil war in the Party, well then let is be, let's see how the extreme LEFT MP's handle being without the Whip and not stand as Labour candidates at the next election, they are only there due to the Labour symbol by their name, even Jeremy Corbyn might have a HARD TIME getting re-elected in 2024.  This has been a good day for Sir Keir.

Thus the be wary warning from the BBC about the latest leaks from the UK/EU talks, do they know something we don't!! The general commentary in the last few days has been good, that deal would be made by Thursday of this week, OR Monday or Tuesday of next week.  The main point is that UK FISH remain UK fish and the UK Parliament decides what areas of the economy to support.  Also the EU wants UK and EU regulations to be the same over different sectors, the UK can hardly agree, what would be the point of leaving the EU if Brussels has a VETO over UK regulations.  Today is Thursday, will there be a breakthrough today?  Se shall see in few hours. Don't hold your breath over the next few days, you will go blue!
