Lets Get Real:

It is mistake for Biden to get into the trenches to fight the LAW AND ORDER topic, there is always a chance that more violence will break out in US cities and Biden will be asked about it, and if he gives the wrong answer he could LOSE his liberal base or start to worry people who live in the suburbs.  A Biden victory is not a give walk over, Biden is no OBAMA or REAGAN.  If Trump can gain a few points in the rust belt State then we might have a real race on our hands.  The Debates will be interesting, will Biden say NO to them, this has been the view of the House Speaker, the Democrats are afraid that Biden will show his age or do something that costs the Democrats the White House.

Lets Get Real:

The US Presidential Election is getting nasty, and the Democrats have to be careful that they do not LOSE the law and order fight, as has been noted, Nixon used that in 1968 to beat the sitting Vice - President in their match up.   President Trump has no difficulty in sending in the Army in to Democratic cities if they look like they are out of control, also suburbs do not like to feel the threat of riots on their doorstep.  It has been noted that Biden has not done a lot of actually meeting the people, he has stayed in his bunker, he has to get out more, the US voter likes a candidate who are not afraid to meet the voters, and Trump loves big rallies.  One the whole Biden should win, but he can not afford to lose more points  to Trump.

The EU is used to last minute agreements, thus it hopes to wear down the UK and its Government.  In the case of BREXIT this will not work, as any agreement needs to get through the House of Commons and then passed by the rest of Europe.  This blog has argued that the UK should just walk away, the game playing of the EU is starting to BORE, even the newspapers rarely run a story on the the Brexit talks, its like a game, and the UK and the EU are playing two different games, the UK Government has the support of the UK public when it comes to Brexit, the EU has Brussels.   Times to end this game and walk away.

This is the REMAIN BBC hoping that the PM Boris will cave in to EU demands, this is not likely, the PM has had many U turns since Covid - 19, the one policy he can not change is BREXIT.  The Brexit story has been off the front pages of the papers for ages, with COVID - 19 the papers have had to deal with a real STORY, a tragedy in the amount of people lost.  The UK voters have been clear twice that they want out of the EU, the HARD REMAINERS want any connection with the EU, thus they seem to forget that the Government can over rule the House of Lords, we the UK voter will have BREXIT, a real Brexit, not a Brexit in name only.

The above is the type of news that this blog wants to HEAR, that the UK will decide its own destiny, the UK can cope with a NO DEAL BREXIT and a 2nd wave of Covid - 19, the UK Government is already planning for it, just in case, that it goes down that road.   One hopes that the EU have their ears open, this means Paris and Berlin.   The EU blew its chance with PM's Cameron and May, one hopes that they do not read the Guardian and think that is UK policy.  On December 31st the UK will be totally FREE, about time since 2016.  Any problems will be dealt with, the British are good in a crisis either War or Royal EVENTS. The EU is slowly missing the UK, the UK is on the train, will the EU join us or be left at the platform.

Lets Get Real:

As the chairman of Wetherspoons supported Brexit through out the process we should support our local pubs.   It has been nice to get out and seeing real people getting along with their real lives, watching reality shows on TV for a while has been fun, but seeing people smile, having conversations and laughing is a must part of being alive, stuck at home for nearly 5 months has almost being annoying at watching CNN or the BBC when it comes to Brexit.    It is nice to shoot the breeze with other people, just talking about nothing, is part of being alive.   Let's hope we do not need a 2nd lockdown, that would be a disaster for the UK ECONOMY.

The Republican Convention - US Election Update 1

On the whole this blog does sully its mind with watching the conventions, it was bad enough to catch some of the arse kissing by CNN of the Biden Convention and this blog is supporting Biden out of no choice!

Thus the GOP is the NOW the party of of Trump and his family.  The President is in trouble, he is down in the national polls and he is down in the rust belt States.   The President needs to find something or really go to town with Biden during the campaign debates.   The elite liberal media, CNN, NYT are celebrating Biden as superman, only because he manged to get through a speech, and what happens when he is off the teleprompter, can he duke it out with Trump in the debates, that will be interesting.
