Way OUT for US Shutdown ? - 2nd Term Blues

CNN - Politics: Reports the following from President Obama's press conference, " End the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling -- even for a short period -- and I'll negotiate, President Barack Obama said Tuesday  " .

Lets Get Real:

This is a trick folks, this blog does not trust the Oval as far as its ego, the Democrats are playing politics, they want to break the Republicans before the 2014 Mid Terms, thus they will say anything then go back on their word, think Syria and Iran.    The Republicans have to keep their nerve, no clean CR or debt ceiling raise, as for default, what will the US be like a with a 20 trillion debt, yes folks it coming.   That shoe will drop, how long can China keep buying US bonds, it becomes worthless paper after a time, even the economy of China will stall one of these days, then what, the banker will hold trillions of US bonds, and they will be not worth the paper they are written on, it will happen folks, just think Weimar Germany.   This is the time for the Republicans to DEAL with the US debt.   It will be hard folks, but better to do something like this on your terms and not on the terms of the Markets. 

Obama's Shutdown - 2nd Term Blues

Guardian - US Live: Reports the following from President Obama's press conference, " Obama did not budge from his position that Congress must reopen government and raise the debt ceiling before the administration enters budget negotiations. ".

Lets Get Real:

Well the Oval and his Democratic allies have shown their true colours, they do not care about the US, all is political with the Democrats.    They want to break the Republican Party, well if they can not be serious then the Republicans should allow the US default.  As stated ALL the horror stories out of the Oval is rubbish, this blog would use stronger words but this blog is a open page.   The Oval thinks it is a THRONE, well President Obama is no KING, what ever his ego tells him the mirror.  The US tax payer is still paying taxes, thus the US Government is getting revenue in, this revenue can be used to pay the bond holders.    The US can not carry on with a 17 trillion debt, when does it end, when your broke, you do not get credit, that is a point the Oval missed OUT.     If the Oval will not be a grown up the Republicans will have to take away the credit card of the Democrats, teach them the hard way, that money is earned not just printed. 

Obama vs. Boehner - 2nd Term Blues

The White House: Readout of telephone call between President Obama and Speaker Boehner, “ Late this morning, the President telephoned Speaker John Boehner from the Oval Office and repeated what he told him when they met at the White House last week: the President is willing to negotiate with Republicans -- after the threat of government shutdown and default have been removed – over policies that Republicans think would strengthen the country. The President also repeated his willingness to negotiate on priorities that he has identified including policies that expand economic opportunity, support private sector job creation, enhance the competitiveness of American businesses, strengthen the Affordable Care Act and continue to reduce the nation’s deficit.

The President urged the Speaker to hold a vote in the House of Representatives on the Senate-passed measure that would re-open the federal government immediately. Citing the Senate’s intention to pass a clean, yearlong extension of the debt limit this week, the President also pressed the Speaker to allow a timely up-or-down vote in the House to raise the debt limit with no ideological strings attached. He noted that only Congress has the authority to raise the debt limit and failure to do so would have grave consequences for middle class families and the American economy as a whole. ”.

Lets Get Real: 

In other words folks NO breakthrough, it seems that the Oval would rather go over the financial cliff that deal with ObamaCare.   As stated my this blog and many others there is no way the US will default on its debts should it not pass the debt ceiling, the Oval is blowing smoke to use an all phrase, the US has tax money coming in, the Oval for once will have to do some work, pay the bond holders, and make sure the US Budget is reformed.  The Oval will have to deal with the Congress and DEAL, the US Presidency is not a Throne folks, even an egotist like President Obama has to deal or face the results, does he want to be another Hoover. 

Boehner vs. Obama - 2nd Term Blues

CNN - Politics: Reports on remarks by Speaker Boehner, " said it's time for his party to "stand and fight" against the Affordable Care Act.  ".

Lets Get Real:

At least Speaker Boehner understands his JOB is on the line, one has to wonder do Senators from Conservative States up for re-election in 2014 understand that they could face the CHOP if they do not break from Majority Leader Reid, this is a man who it seems does not care about children with cancer, thus his refusal to pass a House Bill that will open the Government Department that looks after children with cancer, he is more interested in those that can VOTE, he has a military base in his State.   The Republicans should start to target these Senators, use the above example as way to show that Democrats care about who pays them, than the innocent who can not vote or give them money.    Its  time to take the fight to the Democrats folks.   They WANT to play politics, well lets get in the political trenches. 

Boehner on the US Government Shutdown - 2nd Term Blues

Guardian: Reports the following remarks by US House Speaker Boehner, " Boehner attempted to shift the blame, insisting there were not enough votes in the House. Speaking on ABC's This Week, he said: "There are not votes in the House to pass a clean CR." Boehner added that the House would not pass a bill raising the debt ceiling without a provision related to Obamacare. ".

Lets Get Real:

As stated many times in this blog the Republicans have to hold their nerve, NOT give an inch and play hardball with any moderates who want to bolt.  If the Congress does not pass a debt ceiling raise its not the end of the world folks.   The US voter is still paying TAX, the US Government is still getting the money, thus the President will have to make sure that US bond holders are paid, and that the money that does come it will be used to pay for different US Government Departments.   If Obama wants to be another Hoover, so be it folks, the choice if the US defaults will be in his hands, what is more important the US or the Obama ego?.

The War on Terror - Latest

BBC News: Reports on two raids by US Special Forces in Africa, one successful  in Libya to capture a planner for the US Embassies attacked in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, another a failure in Somalia, the aim to capture a Al Qaeda linked terrorists behind the recent Kenya attacks. 

Lets Get Real:

This hat takes its hat off to the US Special Forces for mounting these raids, the terrorists should never be allowed to sleep without thinking the US will come after them, also the Oval must get some credit, it gave the green light.   It is odd that President Obama is happy with Special Forces attacks and drone kills but has a problem with using the regular Army, the recent disaster with Syria.   One can only postulate that he has seen to many James Bond films, his favourite show is Homeland.    The downside from reports is that the Libyan terrorists will be tried in Federal Court, he should be debriefed first, then more water boarding then placed on Trial.   This is why President Obama is weak folks, he only goes half way. 

Back Pay for Federal Workers - 2nd Term Blues

CNN - Politics: Reports the following from the Republican House, " A bill that provides back pay for furloughed Federal workers during the government shutdown unanimously passed the House during a rare Saturday session on Capitol Hill. ".

Lets Get Real:

The Democratic message is getting muddle folks, the US Defence Department is recalling workers, those Federal workers sent home will get back pay, at some point the Democrats will have to allow for votes on giving funds to those that have served in the military and children in need of cancer help.   As the Unions are great supporters of the Democrats they face the prospect that they will be attacked for supporting their traditional money supporter while allowing children to die.   This is harsh message folks, but in a Chicago fight, you WIN what ever the cost, the Republicans have to WIN for America and the people.
