It was a long night, this blog predicted that HRC would take Florida, it did not happen, while Trump took some blue States that no one expected. There needs to be a tough investigation of how polls are done, the polling industry in the US and UK need to get their ACT together or people will just dismiss polls. The late surge for Trump was not spotted, the white working class male turned out for Trump. This blog has to admit it placed a bet of £5 a few months ago that Trump would win, it was a throw away bet, I should have put down more. I allowed my political gut to be swayed by the polls and pundits, that will not happen again. Thus a Trump Presidency, what will be the foreign policy of Trump, will he place more troops in Syria to finish off Daesh, will he try to defrost the relationship between the US and Russia. It can be expected that Trump might visit Russia before taking office, to see what the US and Russia can agree on. If your the Baltic States you are worried that Trump might revoke the Article 5 of NATO thus removing the joint defence pact between the members. When it comes to domestic policy it can be expected that Trump will cut taxes and try to remove ObamaCare. The new President and oldest President ever elected will have a lot on his plate in January.
