Syria vs. Israel - Update 3

Lets Get Real:

If Assad strikes Israel it could help the Assad Regime in Syria, the rebels would be faced with a PR nightmare, if a Syrian attack forces Israel to ACT the Assad Regime could state that if the rebels attack the Regime they are bed with a the Jewish State, this might cause internal frictions within the already divided Syrian Opposition, one could see Israel having to face Assad in Syria and Hamas in Gaza, also Assad's terrorist ally in Lebanon, thus the US would have to support Israel, one way or another the US could be dragged in to the Syrian Civil War.   The Oval is getting critical comments from the NYT and the Guardian over its do nothing policy when it comes to Syria, the Oval should recall that the Carter Presidency was in many ways bought down because Carter was seen as weak, Obama if he is not careful could be seen in a even worse light, a US Neville Chamberlain.   The US President is the leader of the last Super Power, you can not hide under the desk and lead from behind, the Middle East has a way of destroying hubris in leaders, US Presidents seem to get hubris after a while, Obama got it well before 2008.
