Lets Get Real:

The Democratic contenders for 2020 have already come out in opposing the DEAL between the Senate and the House, they know that their BASE wants to them oppose POTUS on everything, the problem is the base will not get them elected in 2020 and their policy views will not go down well with the FLY OVER STATES.   The coastal States of New York and California are VERY LIBERAL, but as shown in 2000 and 2016, the Democrats can win the popular vote but lose the ELECTORAL COLLEGE, that MAJOR fact does not seem to have burst the Democratic bubble yet.  The moderates and those in the centre of the Democratic Party need to find another Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, candidates with charisma, also not seen as too LIBERAL.  Thus we wait the entry of former Vice  President Joe Biden, he might be a electoral threat to POTUS, he might attract the old Reagan Democrats and those Democrats that supported the Obama/Biden ticket in 08 and 20212.  Of course the nominee might be someone who no one has heard off, November 2020 is very much down the road, and it's long road. 

President Trump and the WALL - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

President Trump started his re-election campaign with his State of the Union speech that went down well with the voters.  The President can say that the US Congress has failed to defend the Southern US border, and thus as President he is declaring a national emergency.   The Republican critics say that if POTUS goes down this road a future Democratic President could do the same thing, well POTUS does not care, he is thinking about his base and 2020.   The Trump Campaign will paint the Democrats are left wing socialists, who do not want to defend the border, want abortion on demand, will tax anyone in the Middle Class, the really rich will always find ways to avoid paying tax, ALSO that Democrats want to increase welfare to those that do not want to work, will get rid of the private health insurance of Americans.   The Trump Oval will play hardball, the President has to keep his BASE happy, he will need them in 2020 and also to back him in case the Special Prosecutor comes back with a HARD REPORT on the 2016 Trump Campaign.  The 2020 Presidential campaign started in January of 2019, it is going to be a LONG year and half.   

My Deal or No Brexit - Brexit Update 1 - Post Brexit?

Lets Get Real:

The PM is playing a very cynical and risky game, it is a matter of who blinks first, the PM knows that the main prize for most Brexit supporters is OUT of the EU, and the risk of losing that will force MPs to back HER DEAL.  On the other hand HARD REMAINERS will try to thwart Brexit by passing a motion that would delay Brexit if there is NO DEAL.   The PM needs something OUT of the EU, a face saving way for Brexit MPs to support the deal, it can be argued that once the UK is out of the EU a future Conservative PM can have another look at the MAY DEAL.   The PRIZE is leaving the EU, that is the most important thing, Brexit supporters want that above anything else, Brexit MPs should support the May Deal or risk losing Brexit. 

The DEMOCRATS want illegal Immigration - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

Are the Democrats trying to LOSE the 2020 election, the leading candidates have endorsed a socialist agenda of  Green New Deal, it would cost trillions and would never get pass the US Congress.  The main candidates are pushing for tax hikes on the rich, and medical over for ALL AMERICANS, and the removal of private health insurance.   The Trump State of Union called what the Democrats doing as socialist, what was shocking is the fact that when POTUS stated that the US would never be a socialist country, the Democrats sat on their hands.   Thus the extreme left wing has taken over the Democratic Party, if the Trump Oval could keep on message it could destroy the Democratic Party for 2020.  One only hopes that former VP Joe Biden enters the race, a grown up, but then he has started his sorry tour over his support for tough laws in the 80s and 90s.   IF the Democrats are seen as supporting illegal immigration then they can forget the rust belt States.   They Democrats are making the same mistake as military commanders fighting a new War based on the results of 2018, two years is a LONG TIME, every Presidential Election is different, the Obama Campaign team of 08 and 12 could not get HRC elected, and HRC was a moderate, liberal on domestic issues but tough on foreign policy.   The papers and networks that give Democratic candidates air time, the ones with no chance of winning, are defrauding their customers, the political reports who write about them, should give back their reporters degrees and refund their paychecks, they are not doing their job.   IF the US Government shuts down again, the Trump Oval should keep it CLOSED, make the case that the Democrats are more interested in illegal immigrants that legal Americans. 

PM May agrees to talks with Jeremy Corbyn over Brexit - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Sky News: Reports " Theresa May accepts talks offer from Jeremy Corbyn in bid for Brexit breakthrough..The prime minister indicates their teams should meet "as soon as possible" with fewer than 50 days to go until Brexit.  "

Lets Get Real:

The PRO Remain Sky News sees the acceptance of talks by the PM as her softening her RED LINES.   Also it could be seen that the PM is reminding her HARD BREXIT supporters if they want to see Brexit they have to support her.   It has been argued that the PM is playing for time, that she is either looking for the House of Commons to pass her DEAL or she is seeking a NO DEAL Brexit.   The PM is keeping her cards close to her chest, she is keeping her HARD REMAINERS and HARD BREXIT MPs in line so far, will they bolt on Thursday on give her most time, the various groups it can be postulated will set down various Amendments for Thursday, will the PM and the Government defeat them, or will the House of Commons take control of Brexit.

PM May replies to Jeremy Corbyn - Brexit Update 1 - Post Brexit

BBC News: Reports " Theresa May has responded to Jeremy Corbyn's letter setting out his five demands for a Brexit deal.  "

Lets Get Real:

The letter from the PM to the Leader of the Opposition has split some of the papers, one sees it as a firm NO from the PM, while others see it as the PM moving for a Soft Brexit.  The meaningful vote on the withdrawal agreement could come at the end of March, of course the HARD REMAINERS will try on Thursday to thwart Brexit.   One wonders what the Remain Cabinet Ministers and the Ministers of State to, will they resign and vote with the Opposition, will they undermine the PM.   The PM should consider sending the Houses of Parliament in to Recess and run the Government through Royal Decree.   There is NO WAY that 650 MPs can decide foreign policy, the HARD REMAINERS just want to STOP Brexit, in this they will be helped by a bias Speaker.   The HARD BREXIT supporters have to get the prize of the UK out of the EU, they can get what they want after May has a successor at No 10.

Lets Get Real:

This could be a ploy by HARD REMAINERS to sneak an extension of Article 50.  The Conservative Chief Whips should have their eyes and ears open, the PM needs to place pressure on Hard Remainers within the Cabinet to stay, make it clear, once they are OUT, there is no coming back, when it's over its over.   Also the Conservative Chief Whips should be having talks with Labour MPs from Leaves Seats, remind them that the Government is willing to fund these poor areas, all politics is local, and the voters want to see their MPs bring home the bacon.   The PM has to be tough with the EU, if they STALL, make it clear that the UK will leave with No Deal.  The next few weeks are going to be very interesting, if you are a political geek.
