Trump and Financial Regulations - Trump Era

CNN - Politics: Reports " President Donald Trump will begin work Friday dismantling the financial regulations enacted after the 2008 economic crisis, hours after the first major economic report of his administration is released. "

Lets Get Real:

This blog takes the view that the Government should not over regulate the markets, yes the markets took the Western economy the edge in 2008 but it has returned to balance, if you over regulate you kill the spark that makes money, the US/UK need a health financial sector, it creates jobs and brings in good taxes to fund the other polices of the Government.   Bankers are not 2nd hand car salesmen, it is a tough job, endless hours facing a screen full of numbers, and the World events having an effect.    Thus a good job by President Trump to get government out of the financial sector. 

US vs. Iran - Part 2 - Trump Era

The White House: Has released a statement by the US National Security Advisor, 

" Today, the United States sanctioned twenty-five individuals and entities that provide support to Iran’s ballistic missile program and to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and engages in and supports violent activities that destabilize the Middle East. This behavior seems continuous despite the very favorable deal given to Iran by the Obama Administration. These sanctions target these behaviors.

Iran’s senior leadership continues to threaten the United States and our allies. Since the Obama Administration agreed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran in 2015, Iran’s belligerent and lawless behavior has only increased. Examples include the abduction of ten of our sailors and two patrol boats in January 2016, unwarranted harassment of vessel traffic and repeated weapons tests. Just this week, Iran tested a ballistic missile, and one of its proxy terrorist groups attacked a Saudi vessel in the Red Sea.

The international community has been too tolerant of Iran’s bad behavior. The ritual of convening a United Nations Security Council in an emergency meeting and issuing a strong statement is not enough.  The Trump Administration will no longer tolerate Iran’s provocations that threaten our interests.

The days of turning a blind eye to Iran’s hostile and belligerent actions toward the United States and the world community are over. "

Lets Get Real:

The Tehran Regime should understand the fact that the appeasing days of the Obama Administration is OVER.   The new US Administration and its allies in the Middle East will be looking very carefully at Iran, looking for any way to strike them should they cause problems for other Countries or attack allied ships in the Gulf.   THIS is a good start by the Trump Oval, let us hope that Trump remains this strong when it comes to Iran.

Lets Get Real:

The Trump Administration has come out hard against Iran its early days, but has not scrapped the US/IRAN nuclear deal.   Tehran will take note of this and push further to see what it can get away with in the Middle East.   IF Iran tests another missile the US should be ready to take out the missile sites and warn Iran that if it does anything else the US and its allies in the region keep the right to take out their nuclear buildings around Iran.  This is the only way that Iran will behave.   The US and its allies have to be strong.

Trump eases Russian sanctions - Trump Era

CNN - Politics: Reports " The Treasury Department said Thursday it will allow for some companies to do limited business with Russia's Federal Security Service, known as the FSB. "

Lets Get Real:

IF Putin wants to ease US sanctions on Russia then the price has to be help in Syria as posted in previous post.  Of course if Trump is Russian puppet as has been alleged this could be the pay off for the Russian FSB having dirt on Trump while he was in Russia.  One will have to see what other sanctions are taken off by Trump, if there are more the US Congress should launch a tough investigation of Trump and his ties to Putin and Russia.   At the moment this blog is not rushing to judgement. 

Trump White House vetoes Obama plan for Syria - Trump Era

The Hill: Reports " President Trump's White House has reportedly scrapped the previous administration's plan to take Raqqa, the capital of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria's self-declared caliphate. "

Lets Get Real:

One can only hope that Trump will follow through with his campaign pledge to destroy Daesh, if the Russians are willing to put their troops in harms way then all the good, any better relationship with Russia should be two way street, they use their manpower in the region as ground forces, while the US and its Allies do the air cover and air support for any attack.   If the US does use its ground forces it should be US/UK Special Forces, the fight for Raqqa will be tough and bloody, the Western voter on the whole does not want to see large Western forces in action after Iraq.   The fight in Syria will be bloody and hard, thus the plan should have a chance of success, it may take many drafts to get it right.

The New York Times: Reports " ...Some analysts said they worried that the harsh words could further escalate hostilities, and even precipitate a military confrontation, if Iran tests America with another missile launch. "

Lets Get Real:

One can assume that the Trump Administration has not be totally clear about any US action as to give itself room for action should Iran test another missile.   On the campaign trail the Candidate Trump was 100% against the US/ Iran nuclear deal, as the article states since becoming President Trump has been quiet on the issue.   Of course there are many ways for Iran to cause problems in the region, they could cause problems for Western oil tankers in the Gulf, use terrorism to hit US interests in the region, or have their terrorist groups hit Israel as to divert attention.  Iran will be a major problem for Trump during the his first term, lets see if he can do any better than President Obama.

Telegraph - Live Reporting: Reports in its 3.03pm post the following, " Iran responds to US over missile test..Iran said US comments on its recent ballistic missile test were "repetitive, baseless and provocative", state TV quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi as saying..."Instead of thanking Iran for its continued fight against terrorism, the American government is practically helping the terrorists by claims about Iran that are baseless, repetitive and provocative," Ghasemi said. "

Lets Get Real:

As this blog posted yesterday the main threats for the first Trump Term will be Iran and North Korea, the President has stated that ALL OPTIONS are on the table, this can be seen as a red line, a warning to Iran to back off missile testing or face a military strike.   In this President can not make the same mistake as President Obama did over Syria, he threatened military action should the Assad Regime use chemical weapons against its own people, when Assad followed through and called the Obama bluff the President was shown to be weak when he did not respond.   One can only hope that Trump has learnt that lesson.   Thus we will have to see if Iran tests a new missiles, if it does then Trump must react in some form,  military or economic, the clock is ticking.
