Obama on Health Care Reform

The President will state the following on his health care reform:

A) “I don’t believe we should give government bureaucrats or insurance company bureaucrats more control over health care in America. I believe it’s time to give the American people more control over their own health insurance. I don’t believe we can afford to leave life-and-death decisions about health care to the discretion of insurance company executives alone. I believe that doctors and nurses like the ones in this room should be free to decide what’s best for their patients. " The first line is being economical with the truth, the health care bill gives vast power to the Washington D.C. The problem with a Government Department is that it always wants more money, and there will be demands for more funding, health costs never gone down. At present the US voter does control their health care, after the Bill is forced through the US Government will have the power to pull the plug on aged parents by not funding their care. The US Government will tell Doctors what the Government will pay for, as the Government will be the major force in the system the funding for new projects will come down to what is decided in D.C.

B)" The proposal I’ve put forward gives Americans more control over their health care by holding insurance companies more accountable. It builds on the current system where most Americans get their health insurance from their employer. If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Because I can tell you that as the father of two young girls, I wouldn’t want any plan that interferes with the relationship between a family and their doctor.”
If you add an extra thirty million people the costs will go up, if Obama really believes the above rubbish he his being dishonest with the American voter, but more of a problem is his not being honest with himself, the arrogance before the fall.

C) “So this is our proposal. This is where we’ve ended up. It’s an approach that has been debated and changed and I believe improved over the last year. It incorporates the best ideas from Democrats and Republicans – including some of the ideas that Republicans offered during the health care summit, like funding state grants on medical malpractice reform and curbing waste, fraud, and abuse in the health care system. My proposal also gets rid of many of the provisions that had no place in health care reform – provisions that were more about winning individual votes in Congress than improving health care for all Americans.”
Thus a few shallow bones to Republicans, its all spin folks, the problem for a Obama is that he really believes its the process, he cant take the fact that it is the policy, he cant face the fact that he is throwing the Democratic Party and his Presidency under the bus because he does not have the guts to ditch his left wing agenda, that why Obama will be a failed Presidency, what the Gods make the Gods also gave hubris.

D) “At stake right now is not just our ability to solve this problem, but our ability to solve any problem. The American people want to know if it’s still possible for Washington to look out for their interests and their future. They are waiting for us to act. They are waiting for us to lead. And as long as I hold this office, I intend to provide that leadership. I don’t know how this plays politically, but I know it’s right. And so I ask Congress to finish its work, and I look forward to signing this reform into law.”
POTUS does not even have the guts to use the R word. It sad seeing a one term President in the making, lets see how Obama likes it when the Republicans control Congress and block his entire Agenda. Lets be clear if the economy was in a good shape and the jobless rate was down to 1990s levels then one could support the Obama health care bill, but he wants to spend a TRILLION dollars during a recession not on jobs but health care reform. This shows the political bankruptcy of Liberals, they don't have an Agenda for job growth thus they pander to their base, the cost will be that the USA joins the ranks for Rome, the British Empire, former might powers no longer leaders but followers of new powers, it will be China later on in the 21 Century.

Reconciliation Day - Health Care Reform

Fox News: Reports that President Obama will declare today that he will use the nuclear option of 51 votes in the US Senate to get health care reform through the Congress. The President will throw some bones to the Republicans, but they are shallow and show the arrogance of power by Obama. The Republicans should make it clear to Obama that after this decision he will need 60 votes for every aspect of his legislation, even to open a window. Its time for Chicago hard ball, well no time to be nice to the White House, make it slow and painful for the Democrats, play for time, stress out the process, let health care be the only thing on the table, make the Democrats suffer, block all their plans, make Obama see the cost of arrogance.

No to Yes - Health Care Reform

Fox News: Reports that nine Democratic members of the House of Representatives could change their NO votes to Yes for health care reform. The Republicans should pray that the Democrats use the 51 nuclear option in the US Senate and ram through health care reform in the House, this would allow the Republicans to campaign on one clear issue, the repeal of of Obama Care, the tax hikes and the demand that Americans buy insurance will allow the Republicans to retake the House and block the Obama Agenda. If Obama is foolish enough to go down this route the Republicans should build him an Alter, a fake star for a fake alter, love the irony. The one thing that can be stated almost as a fact is that Obama is a one hit wonder as they say in the pop world. At the start of the Obama Presidency he had the chance to bring the country together, but he has become a hostage of the liberal leadership of the House and Senate, Obama is no LBJ.

Votes in the House - Health Care Reform

Slate: Reports on the voting patterns in the House of Representatives, the article states that Speaker Pelosi will have a hard time getting the votes, as stated in the NYT it comes down to Democrats who oppose abortion and those that think that the Bill will bankrupt the country. At the end of the day the heavy lift will have to come from the Oval, Obama will have to find his inner LBJ. In other words its down to what House members want, do they need money for their individual races, do they want the White House to get jobs for their friends, do they need Obama not come to their district in the Mid Terms. Or even more hard ball does the White House have any political dirt on House members, sleeping with their secretaries, tax avoidance, mob connections, etc. If so the Oval will have to use this dirt, its about winning not coming second. This is hard ball politics, lets put aside the issue of health care reform, lets look at the process, Obama needs a win, thus it time to put away his moderator hat and place his Chicago hat on, find what is the weakness of the voter you need and feed that weakness, leave the morality at the door. As the article states in less Pelosi can turn some votes the bill will " almost certainly fail. " This would be a crushing defeat for Obama, thus as Reagan rented House votes the Obama White House has to play hardball, otherwise the Democrats will lose the House in 2010 and the Presidency in 2012. Its real politics folks, that is what this blog would do if in the Obama White House.
