This is a risk for the UK, what happens if the Syrian Regime does not fall, it will have caused Syria to be furious with the UK, also it will mean that Syria will get ever closer to its backer Iran, also the Syrian Regime might think that to gain internal support it needs a small scale conflict with its neighbour Israel, this would be backed Iran, thus the Iran nuclear crisis could be dragged in to a Syrian Civil War or a external War with Israel. Next year look rough for the Middle East between Syria and Iran.
