The Democratic Split, Obama vs. Warren Liberals - 2nd Term Blues

Lets Get Real:

In this Budget fight we have seen the split between liberal Democrats lead by Senator Warren and the White House.   The Obama Oval will have to deal with a Republican House and Senate next year, if the Obama White House was less liberal it could see this as a chance to make some domestic gains that would look good for President Obama and the Republican Congress, such as tax reform, and immigration reform, but these would reforms would not go down well with Democrats, thus we shall see if the Obama Oval can use this success for further deals next year, a smart Chicago pol like President Obama could make his last two years a success, lets see if the Oval will take this chance.   The liberal left is looking for Senator Warren to be heir leader and their candidate in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, thus more division within the Democratic Party. 

The US Senate and the 1.1 Trillion Budget - 2nd Term Blues

BBC News:  Reports " The US Senate is set to vote on a $1.1tn (£700bn) budget a day after it cleared the House of Representatives in a close and contentious vote. "

Lets Get Real:

This should get through the US Senate, the Democrats who have the majority at present want to push it through before they hand over to the Republicans.   The Bill will fund the US Government in till September.   In that time the Republicans can go after the Obama Agenda.   They can start by making it harder for the Oval to get the Attorney General it wants, and then down the line to the Judges.   On the Foreign Policy front as stated a select committee in to Libya, the rise of IS in Iraq and Syria.   A Senate Committee is harder to spin, people will be under oath.   Fun times for Republicans next year. 

Obama, and the CIA Torture Report - 2nd Term Blues

The New York Times: Reports on how President Obama has dealt with the torture report " Even as Mr. Obama repeated his belief that the techniques constituted torture and betrayed American values, he declined to address the fundamental question raised by the report, which the committee released on Tuesday: Did they produce meaningful intelligence to stop terrorist attacks...."

Lets Get Real:

The President is thinking about 2016, what if Jeb Bush runs and wins the Presidency in 2016, the next President might decide that the spotlight should be on the Obama Administration, drone strikes, bugging everybody, the use of tax as a political weapon.   The liberal Democratic base would have a major heart attack if it had to come out and attack POTUS.   It easy to be critical of the past, leaders then feared another attack, the US voter wanted action, not some smug liberal view of the World.   What if IS attacks the US homeland, another 9/11 or worse, what are the Democrats going to do then, say morality is more important than saving lives, yes the Democrats might have put themselves in a major hole for 2016.

Lets Get Real:

THE Democrats should recall that the US and the West is still in A War on Terror, this has been added to by the development IS in Syria and Iraq.   The Obama Administration is still killing terrorists with drones, no Court hearing.    One can see this Democratic report as a last present to the extreme liberal left in the US.   The Oval has to careful, what if its actions in the future are seen as illegal.  Lets see few seconds of waterboarding or a drone strike, doubt the terrorists would go for the drone strike.    The Oval needs to defend the CIA, past and present, or else when a Republican comes in to the White House he might ask for a full report on the drone strikes, were innocent people killed, how many US born citizens did the Obama Administration kill, yes the kind of question that the Oval does not want to answer.   

CIA and the Torture Report - 2nd Term Blues

UK and US Torture Report - 2nd Term Blues

The simple answer to the above request is NO, British MPs are spoiled plonkers, they just like their voices heard, the UK Government should tell them to smell the coffee and get lost, it seems its get the CIA week, thank goodness British MPs do not  have real power, they could be a threat to national security of the UK and the US.   This row will blow over, at last time this blog looked there was still IS out there, Al Qaeda seems very much alive, the War on Terror is not over, and will not be for a few years, you liberal left wing elites, grow up and protect UK and US national security, just shut up.

The Republicans need to pass this, it funds the US Government in till later next year, then when the Republicans take control of the Senate in January they can go after the Obama Administration.   The first thing the new Republican Congress should do is disown the US Senate Torture Report, revoke the security pass of its outgoing Chairwoman.   Then censure all the Democrats who supported the move in the first place.   Then the Republicans in the Senate need to set up a select committee in to Libya.   The story still stinks from the Obama Administration.    Then over the next two years the Republicans should fight the Oval over ObamaCare, let it wither on the vine under President Obama. Make the last two years of the Obama Administration hell on earth.
