Lets Get Real:

This endless face of voting and voting has to come to an end, for once Former President Trump could be of use, he should threaten to support any candidate that challenges the Republican Rebels if they do get a move on.  It seems that Kevin McCarthy will have no power if he gets the gavel, he is making concessions ALL OVER THE PLACE.  The role of Speaker is only as powerful as the Speaker, if the Speaker can be thrown out at any time by any member it leads to chaos in the political process.  The Democrats do not get away from blame either, they could support some of their members getting to vote with the Republicans, no deals, just the right thing to do, think the TV show, West Wing on LSD, of course that will never happen, the costs are to much, and any deal like that would FALL apart as the Republicans still have 218 seats, a 4 seat majority.  Another long day then, get out the coffee.

Lets Get Real:

The last few days have been a disaster for the Republicans, the Democrats have come across as united when they are not, and the Biden Oval must be thinking that a Republican Congress will not be that BAD, if this is the way they behave to each other.  There are only so many concessions you can give as Speaker or it is pointless to have the job, if you go to talks with POTUS, he knows that you might have real difficulties in getting anything through the House Republicans never mind the Congress.  The arch problem is that the Trump supporters are no longer listening to him, they have gone rogue, and have gone off the reservation, how does the former President get them under control again, he should threaten to support any candidate against those that remain rouge, his influence might be low State wide but in the Republican Primary his can be the support that pushes a candidate pass the winning line.  These endless votes cannot go on, nothing can be done on the Hill without a Speaker.

One does really hope that there are not more revelations in the 557 pages of the SPARE, one assumes that Buckingham Palace will use the Sunday Broadsheets and the tabloids to set outs its own view of the previous history.  The line that memoirs might differ will not hold up, either Prince Harry is telling the truth or its a subjected TRUTH, and TRUTH these days is up to debate and one's own truth might be very different from reality, just ask Donald Trump.  At least the late Queen did not have to face this, she never set a foot wrong in public, what she would have said about this mess is open to debate.  The King really needs to get his son over from California and way from the Dutchess for a good talk, family is family after ALL, does Prince Harry want to really ruin the Royal Brand, as stated by this blog, the Duke of Sussex is making Duke of Windsor look like part of the Establishment, and the titles held by the Duke should be open to question, family secrets like the above should never come out!!

This revelation is quite a shock, that the Prince of Wales attacked his brother in the heat of an argument, he later said sorry, but that is not the point.  All families have arguments, most families do not announce it in a memoir, how the brothers can become brotherly again is open to the question, Prince Harry did not even say that he would come to the Coronation of his father, King Charles III, one is not sure his presence would be good or bad, in less the arguments STOP and the King can bring his sons in to line, at least in public, then it might not be a bad idea for him not attend.  As he is comfortable on camera, Prince Harry could comment on the Coronation, for either Netflix or one of the big American networks, it would be a coup for any network and the ratings would be BIG, also the Duke of Sussex would make some cash out of it, how else does one explain his mini series on Netflix and the memoir.  As how the British public will view the above allegation, well the Duke is not that popular at the moment, some might come to his side, others might say the Prince of Wales did not hit him hard enough, as to get some sense back in to his brain.  This blog abhors any physical violence, if it does happen in families it needs to be behind closed doors, in less the circumstances require Police action, the Police really hate " Domestics ".  The Prince Harry interview on ITV will get millions of watchers, and what else is in the memoir.

This has been a disgrace by the Republican Party, where are the elder Statesmen of the Party, and more important how come former President Trump has not done more, they are his followers, or have they gone totally rogue, the US image around the World is taking a battering by the extreme right in the Republican Party.  The Democrats will be drinking out of these past two nights for years, the extreme right is making the Squad on the Democratica side look stable, and that is saying something.   It is time for some back room deals, it has to be made clear to the 20, that when the Republicans take the Speakership that their actions will not be forgotten if they carry on this way, one can see the political adverts already for 2024, Biden will be laughing his backside off, the Republicans have to unite behind McCarthy or someone else, and it has to be done either tonight or tomorrow, the Party of Lincoln and Reagan are making the US look like a banana Republic, this has to STOP.

Thus TRUMP has spoken, the question is will the extreme right even listen to him, in the Mid Terms Trump got his candidates to be the nominee, but they LOST BIG TIME, Thus there are limits to the power of the Trump when it comes to general election, the extreme right might think they can buck Trump, as Trump might not be the nominee the next time, let's not forget his legal problems and his base in the Party is about 30% to 35%, it depends how many candidates there are for the nomination, if there are a lot the base vote that Trump has could be enough to get him the nomination.  Thus Trump must really place pressure on those holdouts in the House, he should remind them that he can get candidates to run against the in the Primaires, let's see if he has the guts to play hardball with his own followers.  Fun day ahead with new rounds for the choosing of a House Speaker.  No prediction from this blog on the outcome of this election, the freedom caucus is bonkers!

The Speaker of the House Part 2 - Biden Era

Lets Get Real:

The House Democrats must be having fun, seeing the Republicans tear themselves apart, they should worry also, if the Party gets a Republican Speaker, that does not mean Kevin McCarthy or it might be him,  he will have to follow the wants of the extreme right, thus a lot of Congressional investigations in to Afghanistan and Hunter Biden.  Down the road the Biden Oval will be looking at moderate Republicans who might vote with the Democrats on different parts of the Biden Agenda, and to see how they can get these Republicans to agree to go against the party will.  One hopes that after a good night's rest and some deals in smoke filled rooms, the Republican Party can nominate a Speaker who can get 218 votes.  It is always good to have oversight of the a Administration, the Democrats allowed the Biden Oval to get away with its disastrous Afghanistan policy and showed no interest in Hunter Biden.  It could be a long day, it's fun watching the sausage ( how politics really works ) as its being made.  That is why US politics is so fun, and now the Yanks cannot complain about our three PM's in a year and our mini budget.
