The Russians still have their maximalist demands and the Ukraine will not give the Donbas to the Russians. There have been false dawns in the Ukraine War, the Russians want the whole of the Donbas, the Ukraine to become a pawn of Russia, no NATO membership, no foreign troops on the ground, they also want some NATO States not to be part of NATO, like Poland and the Baltic States, thus no concessions from Moscow, thus back at the start. It will take a new President in the US for the Ukraine to win.
