Lets Get Real:
The Rings of Akhatern allowed Clara to develop her daring side, allowing her to have her own adventure but also show her caring side, thus a connection to caring side as shown in the Christmas special, the dots are there folks, you have to pay attention. It was nice to show the Doctor mention that he has a granddaughter, that he has been to the planet before, but also it allowed Matt Smith to show his acting chops, showed that the Doctor has walked through ALL of time, and that even a Monster as big a PLANET could not take the secrets of the Doctor.
The mercurial side of the Doctor was shown when he was not going to give up his Sonic Screwdriver, the Doctor without his sonic would have been dead by now, okay Rose was not impressed with it, that being the sonic, she was more impressed with Captain Jack's Sonic Gun, first series folks. Is it me or is Steven Moffat trying to turn the 11th Doctor in to the 5th, TARDIS console is going back to the 80s feel, the Doctor has a brown long coat, he wears glasses, think about that folks, of all the old Doctors, its the 5th that has come back to do a cameo. Also it was interesting to see that the Doctor was laying to Clara, he knows she cant be, that she is a mystery, she has died twice, so who is SHE, what is SHE. Also forget these reality music shows folks, the Doctor has some great singers in this episode. Next week the TARDIS lands on a Nuclear Sub during the Cold War, looks very intense by the trailer and horror, yes folks the Doctor is back!.
