The UK Weather + Cold and the Rain = Romans had SOCKS

Telegraph: Reports on evidence that Roman Soldiers were wearing socks while they guarded Roman Britain. The weather has not changed that much, cold, rain, one can postulate that the poor Roman coming from the Sunny weather of Italy would have had a culture hear attack after a few days in Roman Britain, the weather and the locals not that happy and once the Romans left the Roman junk was thrown out with them, but they left their shoes and traces of their socks!
