The Sunday Times: Reports that Senator Obama is being advised to keep Robert Gates, the Defence Secretary under President Bush. This would be a good move by Obama, as this would help him with the moderate Republicans and Independents, and would allow him to place the Iraq policy still in Republican hands, Gates has also served the Reagan, Bush 41 Administrations. Also it should be noted that President Bill Clinton also appointed a Republican as his Defence Secretary.
