MOD: Has announced the names of the two recent British Soldiers that have died in Afghanistan, on Friday “ Ranger David Dalzell, of 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment ”died in a operational accident. On Saturday “ Warrant Officer Class 2 (Company Sergeant Major) Colin Beckett, of 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment ” was killed by an IED. Our thoughts are with the families of Ranger Dalzell and Warrant Officer Class 2 (Company Sergeant Major) Beckett. Thus since 2001 the UK has lost 352 of its Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan, of that total it has lost 310 in combat action and 42 due to illness, accidents or other incidents.
