Fox News: Reports on the retirement of US Supreme Court Justice, Mr David Souter. The US Supreme Court has nine Justices, the President appoints and the US Senate has to give its Yes or No. At present there are two Justices appointed by Reagan, two by Bush 43 and one by Bush 41. This gives the the Court a nominal Conservative view point, Justice Kennedy appointed by Reagan is the swing vote, he is a moderate Conservative. On the Liberal side Bill Clinton appointed two Justices, and the other two Justices had the nod from Republicans, Gerald R Ford and Bush 41 but always seem to vote for the Liberal side. That's the thing about the appointment to the US Supreme Court, they never have to retire and can go their own way. It was the Conservative Justices that gave the Presidency to Bush 43 in 2000. Thus this selection by Obama might not have an immediate effect but could have lasting impact on the USA. Lets hope Obama pics a Liberal on Domestic Issues but a moderate Conservative when it comes to National Security.
