The New York Times: Reports that the President and Senate leaders are going to push for another bill to bailout Wall Street. This shows the elite agenda, even after defeat yesterday they act as if the vote in the House of Representatives does not matter. Is this a Democracy or an elite wall street system. The poor tax payer is expected to bail out Wall Street Fat Cats and pick up the bill. Call, email and text your Representative, let them know you will vote against them if they support the Bill. Should Congress pass the Bill, THROW THEM OUT OF OFFICE.
A look at the Politics of the United States and the UK. The Foreign Policies of both countries and how they behave in the International Community.

Bill Clinton, Dems are to BLAME! - By McCain
A great Ad by the McCain Campaign, letting Bill Clinton blame the Democrats for the Wall Street Bail out. One critic it needs to be about thirty seconds, the modern voter has a limited span of attention. Cut Ad and do a national run. Play of the Day.
Post Debate Polls
Lets have some fun folks, we need it after the last couple of days, lets see how the candidates are after the debate and the Wall Street Mess.
Gallup: Reports a six point margin between Obama and McCain. The Poll finds the following, Obama 49% - McCain 43%. On one level if in the Obama Campaign would be selecting the drapes for my West Wing Office, on the other hand these polls would trouble me in some respect, its just after an economic 9/11 you would think Obama would be in double digits not single digits. Also do you recall New Hampshire and Indiana, in NH Obama had a double digit lead and lost to Hillary Clinton, also in Indiana Obama had a two point lead over Clinton but lost by two. Thus if you postulate that the polls are four percent off, Obama and McCain are tied, and in a tied race Obama will lose, harsh but simple folks. Obama needs to get a double digit lead well before November.
Rasmussen: Also reports that Obama has a six point lead, in this poll Obama has managed to get over the 50%. The Poll finds the following, Obama 51% - 45%. Obama needs the next four Weeks to be about the economy and he should cross his fingers that Israel does not attack Iran on the presumption that an Obama Administration would veto any plan. Israel might not attack before the Presidential Election but after is another matter, even Bush might green light that attack, Obama could not attack Israel and Israel would to use a snooker term, snookered the President Elect.
My two penny on the state of this race is different, not based on calling voters, not even at looking at the polls in detail. I think the race is about Obama 47% - McCain 45%. Thus Obama has four weeks to win this race and get a double digit lead before November.
The Bush Era
The White House: President Bush has stated the following on the Wall Street Bailout and the defeat yesterday by Congress, " But the reality is that we are in an urgent situation, and the consequences will grow worse each day if we do not act. The dramatic drop in the stock market that we saw yesterday will have a direct impact on the retirement accounts, pension funds, and personal savings of millions of our citizens. And if our nation continues on this course, the economic damage will be painful and lasting. " Bush 43 is making the same mistake his father did, his father raised taxes when he had promised on the Campaign trail that he would not, his son is now giving the biggest bail out in American History. Those that are arguing this point, only see the Wall Street point, what they fail to see or face the other way is the fact that if you do this bail out the entire structure of the Western Economy will change, in the future if a large company is going to go broke they will go to the government ask for a bail out, if the company has influence and lot of workers thus voters it will get a bail out. The USA will become the sick man of the Western World. Bush 43 has become Bush 41, what a sad end to a Presidency. Bush 43 will not be seen as great like Ronald Reagan but a man that deserted his agenda under elite pressure. Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan different parties but tough and resolute Presidents, not George W. Bush.
The Market
The Economic Melt down of yesterday has not tanked the market, the London FTSE closed 83.68 up and at the Dow Jones at 6.27pm UK time is 352.60 up as reported by the BBC. Those that still want the bail out are not looking at this in a rational way. The Market will recover over time, a seven hundred billion dollar bail out will keep Wall Street happy but Main Street will have to pay the Bill. Call your Representatives in Congress, flood their offices with phone calls, text, email, make them see that this bail out is not needed. The System will correct itself, if the Democrats want to fund Wall Street let them. I call on the Republicans to oppose this daft Bill, I think Gipper would support you in this action. Let the voters see that there is a difference between Democrats and Republicans. On those in the Market should start to buy shares, this is the time to get cheap but good companies for the long term.

7 Billion or 700 points ?
Fox Business News: Reports that the Market fell over seven hundred points at the news that the bailout plan for Wall Street had been defeated. As of 8.40pm UK time it was down to 626.99. In 1987 Wall Street tanked, I recall what Reagan said of the event, there is nothing as fickle as a million dollars, well change that to a billion. The Market will fall tomorrow, but this is the time to invest, let the really good non banking stock fall then buy, if I had the money I would buy but let the stock hit the bottom first, at the end of the day this is not the 1930s, and this is not the Great Depression. It should be noted that what bought the West out of the Great Depression was not government spending but a War, World War Two.
Democrats blame Republicans!
The New York Times: Reports that the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for the loss of the Wall Street Bailout. Good the Republicans should use that against the Democrats, they should argue that Republicans care more about main street and not Wall Street, while the Democrats want to bail out rich Wall Street types. The Republicans could take back Congress with this simple slogan, " We Care about YOU, the Democrats care about WALL STREET "
Republicans Blame Democrats
RCP Blog: Reports that the Republicans are placing the blame for the defeat at the partisan feet of the Democratic Speaker. Since the Democrats control the House at the end of the day its the blame of the Democrats, if they didn't have the votes why let the bill on the floor, either way it looks bad for Speaker Pelosi, she could not manage her members in the House and she miss read the Republicans. How long will Pelosi be Speaker if the market tanks tomorrow. They will have to pass something, but what, and will the Republicans bother to support a new bill when they can run against a Democrat who supported the Bill.
228 No - 205 Yes - Wall Street Bailout
Fox News: Reports on the final vote to bailout Wall Street. The House of Representatives can be proud of its vote today, yes the markets will sell off tomorrow, but that not the point, they will recover, this is not the 1930s, the Western System for its faults has the Welfare System, thus no soup kitchens, people will not starve, its better hard medicine now that long tough medicine for years, If the bailout had gone through the Western Economy would have become the sick man of the world, the reason, in the Western system you can get rich but also you can lose. If you remove the benefits of making money and that means risks, you have the Soviet Union. The good banks and companies will move on, this could be the start of a golden era in Western Europe. No more government action to prevent those that want to make money and make jobs, if we grasp this chance we might thank the credit crunch.
Wall Street Bailout ?
The Times: Reports the Congressional Leaders, Democrats and Republicans are going to use their influence to over turn the House vote to reject the Bailout of Wall Street. Are we living in a banana Republic, will they vote till the right vote received, the House has spoken, that should be end of the subject.
The Vote in House - Wall Street
At last glance the House has failed to pass the bailout of Wall Street, at last count the vote was 207 Yes and 226 No. The House leadership both Republicans and Democrats will try to twist hands and any other part to pass this Bill. Lets hope the House shows some guts, defeat this bill House of Representatives.
The Mommy Problem - Economic 9/11
BBC News: Reports on the vote in the House of Representatives to bailout Wall Street. The title for this blog, The Mommy Problem comes from the last season of the West Wing, Josh explains to the Democratic Nominee that when Domestic Issues are main concern of voters they turn to Mommy, in this case the Democratic Party, when it comes to Foreign Policy its father and the Republicans. Thus since this is a major Mommy problem, one would expect Obama to use this issue to carry him in to the Oval Office. Lets see the Polls for Tuesday, those polls will show how the Presidential Debate has effected the race, as the cover the days after the debate and the bail out.

The Elite of Elite on the Debate
The New York Times: Ms Dowd of the Liberal New York Times, she and the times are in the tank for Obama is honest when she writes, " Obama did a poor job of getting under McCain’s skin. Or maybe McCain did an exceptional job of not letting Obama get under his skin. .....and Obama ran out of gas. " It is odd that Obama was desperate for the Debate and he did such a poor job, it seems that he has not learnt from his debates with Hillary Clinton, in less he has thousand of Germans shouting his name he cant preform, that shows that he is no Gipper, just ask Walter Mondale what a great line at your expense can cost you, the guy could not get elected back to his own Senate Senate after the 1984 performance against Reagan.
Washington Post: David Broder the Dean of the Washington Press Core states the following, "... John McCain out-pointed Barack Obama often enough to encourage his followers that he can somehow overcome the odds and deny the Democrats the victory that has seemed to be in store for them. " As Broder points out neither Obama or McCain wanted to discuss the Wall Street Bail out, if one had shown leadership and opposed the plan then the voters in the United States would have a real choice, the real choice that he voters have is the elite vs elite view of the economy. Either Obama or McCain could have used the debate to lead the voice of the voter. But both have been scared by economic wonks on how the West will fall apart if the bailout does not go ahead, poor America, neither Obama or McCain have show leadership over Wall Street.
Obama on Iraq by McCain
Another hard hitting Ad by McCain on the Obama view of Iraq. It uses the words of Joe Biden against his own running mate, this is a hard and effective Ad. Play of the Day.
Monday = Bailout = WALL STREET
The New York Times: Reports that Congress will vote on Monday for the bailout of Wall Street. I thought the Asian Market will open on Sunday. This is the last chance for voters to call their members in the House of Representatives to oppose such a bill, Wall Street will make sure its gets money, while Main Street will have to pay the Bill.
Wall Street Bailout
BBC News: Reports that a bailout has been agreed by the US Congress. It seems the Republicans in the House of Representatives caved to elite opinion, lets hope the voters send a message back in November and throw every one out who has voted for this plan.

Reviews of Debate - Elite Media
Washington Post: Its seems that the Post has McCain coming out the winner, as in the article it manages not to say that Obama won, in other words McCain did.
NBC News: Has a draw, in other words McCain won but this is msnbc, the semi detached hand of the Obama Camp. If Obama had done that great we would never hear the end of the matter, its that simple folks.
RCP: Has McCain winning, but as the honesty to state that today its back to economic 9/11 that faces the USA. When it comes to economy the Democrats tend to make a better deal with the voter, can McCain change that rule.
Des Moines Register: The respected Politial writer, David Yepsen has McCain winning the debate and Obama coming a poor second, Yepsen writes the following, "....most substantive debates in recent presidential campaign history and John McCain won it. ". This article is the read of the day, as it is honest, some of the elite media still know how to be honest with the reader. Read of the Day.
The Debate Polls
RCP Blog: Has the post debate polls, it should be noted that these polls can be miss leading, Kerry was seen to have " Won " the debates but he still loss. The Rea Polls are the national polls taken after the debate, which candidate gains traction from the debate. In these Post Debate Polls it can be argued that Obama is ahead but if one looks at the those that see it draw it balances itself out to a tight draw between Obama and McCain.
Lets have a look at the Elite Media view of the Debate.
CBS: This Poll finds the following, Obama Won, 39%, McCain Won, 24 %, Draw, 37%. That a very high percent who saw it as a draw, why does my gut tell me that these voters are going to vote for McCain but don't want to tell the pollster that view, just a feeling, its the issue no one wants to discuss and with reason, race, will these who saw the debate as a draw really vote for Obama or Vote for McCain.
CNN: Read this article please, tell me if this shows that the Elite Media is in the tank for Obama. I will give that CNN states that sample of voters is well over represented by Dems. So why publish an article that could have been produced by the Obama Camp. Here is the result, Obama 51%, McCain 38%. If Obama did so well why go out on a journalist blank for him, I think McCain won that debate and the elite media are scared of a McCain Presidency.
McCain vs Obama, The Debate
I watched the whole debate, my gut is telling me that McCain has an easy win, neither Obama or McCain wanted to go near the bail out of Wall Street. On Foreign Policy McCain showed that Obama was reckless, wanting to invade Pakistan soil, Pakistan is a nuclear power with a new government, does Obama want the terrorists to take over Pakistan. I was expecting a better Obama at this debate but he has not improved since his debates with Hillary Clinton. As for the 08 race I think we will have an even race up to November.

Presidential Debates since 1960
CNN: An excellent review of Debates by CNN, also has the polls for the debates and how it effect the race. I still think the Reagan come back in 1984 was the best, he made Mondale laugh and also the press when it come to the age issue, classic TV. Read of the Day.
The New Cold War
The Times: Reports that Russia is to build its own Son of SDI, the new Cold War has started, the difference this time is that Russia has the money, the old USSR didn't have the money. The Oil production of Russia allows it to compete with the USA. The first Presidential Debate in the United States is about Foreign Policy, McCain should show he is the heir to Ronald Reagan, he should use the attack on Georgia by Russia as a reason that the USA should increase defense spending, win the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also important is placing of interceptor missiles in Poland as to protect the West from Iran and other rogue nations. Obama on the other hand has to show he is tough when it comes Foreign Policy, the voters will not elect him if he is seen as weak when it comes to the security of the United States.
756 Billion Bailout of Wall Street
Fox News: Reports a bailout deal could be reached by 12am USA time. Lets hope the House Republicans are not bullied to follow a bad plan, this plan could weaken the Western Economy in the long term.
756 Billion
The Hill: Reports that the Democrats want another fifty six billion as an economic stimulus package. The House Republicans are not going to be happy, it could be a good reason for Bush to throw the whole package out, the Democrats are pandering to their voters. Do they care about the Economy of the United States.
President George W. Bush making another appeal for his bail out of Wall Street, the President stated the following, " There are disagreements over aspects of the rescue plan, but there is no disagreement that something substantial must be done. The legislative process is sometimes not very pretty, but we are going to get a package passed. " As Leo once said in the West Wing, making law is like making a sausage, just in this case its in the public spotlight and the price tag is 700 Billion. The President is wrong with his policy, lets hope the the House Republicans can change the mind of the President.
McCain to Debate Obama
BBC News: Reports that Senator John McCain will debate Senator Obama, the debate will be at 2am UK time. After the suspension of the McCain Campaign so he could deal with the bail out of Wall Street and the idea that he supported the House Republicans over their objections to the bail out, it could be argued that McCain was showing real leadership. But he was quite according to Wire Reports when he and Obama and the rest of the leadership meet at the White House, and know he has decided to debate Obama. What was the point, does any one know what McCain thinks about the bail out, does his staff. Obama was cool, calm and distance from the mess that was developing in D.C, thus if football or soccer terms its Obama 1 - McCain 0. McCain had a chance to show leadership, support the House Republicans but so far nothing, very odd, Obama should come out ahead at the end of the day.
Politics and Money
The Times: Reports how the Republicans in the House of Representatives have placed a veto on the bailout of Wall Street. This is a right move by the Republicans in the House, the USA is not the Soviet Union or France, if a Company goes down the tubes the state should not be there to ease the blow. If you follow that theory every business could claim it should be protected by government money. Politicians need votes, the Republicans have taken the right morale and political move, they now need a new plan and fast.
Bailout in Doubt ?
ABC News: Reports that the bailout of Wall Street is in doubt. Simple answer, never allow worried politicians to talk to each other, each has a base it has to pander to, this plan should have been forced through in a day, Republicans and Democrats have very different bases and voters. McCain should come out against the plan, its already dead in the water, why should the tax payer bailout Wall Street.
No ATTACK on IRAN !
Guardian: Reports that President George W. Bush has placed a USA veto on any military strike by Israel on Iran. Lets be honest, Bush has to deal with Afghanistan and Iraq, the economic mess in the United States, the constant threat of terrorism, the problem of Iran will be on the desk of the next President. If Obama wins expect Israel to hit Iran, Israel will not trust a Obama Administration to support Israel.

No Deal on Wall Street Bail Out
BBC News: Reports that the done deal of a few hours ago is not a done deal. Lets hope Senator McCain comes out against the deal, Obama has taken the Washington D.C line on the deal, in other words to bail out Wall Street. This could be the moment that McCain wins the Presidential Election.

The Deal to SAVE the Western Economy
Telegraph: Reports on the deal agreed on by Congress to save the Western Economy. The deal was it seems done without the help of McCain or Obama. McCain has just arrived in D.C and Obama is on the way to the White House meet with President Bush. It has to be asked did McCain jump the gun here, did he have suspend his Campaign, Obama was more Reagan, Calm and Cool, detached yes but so was Reagan, that didn't hurt the country. Obama might be worth another look at by voters.
The Debate about the Debate!!
The New York Times: Reports on the debate about the Presidential Debate on Friday. The Liberal Times cant help itself, McCain has suspended his Campaign but it takes time to change a campaign, like a great ship, the Times is making a cheap shot that the McCain Campaign is not frozen. Also it stresses the Liberal Agenda of the Bail Out, the Great Ship that was the New York Times has hit an iceberg a long time ago.
Clinton COVER for McCain!
ABC News: Reports that former President Clinton has gone in to bat for Senator McCain over the issue of the Presidential Debate on Friday. The Clintons do not want Obama to win, if Obama wins the power of the Clintons is over, thus seeing that Obama was getting traction in the polls the Clintons thought it best to cover McCain. Good Politics, the Chicago way all around.
Wall Street Bail Out Agreed, 700 Billion TO WALL STREET
BBC News: Reports that the US Congress has agreed to bail out Wall Street. The Congress as it did over Iraq has fallen in to line, they did not have the bottle to say no, the American Tax Payer is going to pick up the tab for the poor management of Wall Street.
Obama BACK IN D.C
Fox News: Reports that President George W. Bush has requested that Senators McCain and Obama come to the White House tomorrow to discuss the Wall Street bail out. This does bring to mind a similar event in the last season of the West Wing, the show was very much on the ball about this election cycle. It has to be noted that McCain has won this election cycle, Obama had no plans to come back to Washington D.C but a Presidential request is an order in many respects. Obama could not allow McCain to have all the limelight. I have my doubts about this debate on Friday.
The Bush Speech
The White House: The Speech by President Bush on the Wall Street Bail Out. The main line is the following, " As a result, our entire economy is in danger. So I've proposed that the federal government reduce the risk posed by these troubled assets, and supply urgently-needed money so banks and other financial institutions can avoid collapse and resume lending. " The Bush Administration was right about its reaction to 9/11, the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the use of extreme methods to get information from terrorists and many other good policies but this move to protect Wall Street is wrong, its not conservative, in fact in makes the Great Society programme of President Johnson look moderate and conservative. The Congress should oppose this plan.

Bush and Wall Street Part Two
BBC News: Reports on the appeal by President George W. Bush for Congress to pass his bail out of Wall Street. This policy is a mistake, if Obama or McCain opposed this move it would show leadership. The Wall Street types will get all the money, while the folks will be lucky to hold on to their houses and pensions.
Bush and Wall Street
The Times: Reports that President George Bush will address the nation tonight to appeal for his Wall Street bail out. I think if this was Ronald Reagan and he asked the American People to send in money to pay for this bail out, they would, but Bush is not the Great Communicator. Bush has to tell the whole truth, he has to tell the people why they should bail out the greedy Wall Street types. I still oppose this plan, if it was Reagan and his request that would be different, but this is Bush and that is the truth.
Palin, American on ROAD TO GREAT DEPRESSION
The New York Times: Reports that the Republican Vice - President Nominee, Governor Palin has stated that the USA could be on the road to another Great Depression if the Congress does not come together to pass a bail out of Wall Street. The 7000 billion bail out of Wall Street should not be passed by Congress, bad banks and companies should be allowed to fail, those parts that make money will be taken over, the market will reform itself. The day the Government bails out Wall Street, a backbone of Western Capitalism will be taken away, better to have tough times now and a better future, than a Market that never takes risks, never creates jobs, the market is the final judge of the economy not the government. I wonder what Ronald Reagan would make of this mess, would he support Bush or oppose such a move, he was a fan of FDR but also believed in limited government.
The Debate
The New York Times: Reports on the chronology of the McCain statement that he would suspend his Campaign as to return to Washington D.C to solve the threat of an economic tsunami. Also that Senator Obama thinks that the Presidential Debate on Friday should go ahead. On this I agree with Senator Obama, in 1980 President Jimmy Carter has a better reason not to debate, he had hostages in Iran. The President turned up to debate then Governor Ronald Reagan. On the whole I would suspect he would have wished to avoid such a debate, but he had the guts to turn up, it was a mistake but he did turn up, Reagan won the debate and the Presidency.

Obama - NO DEBATE PAUSE
Fox News: Breaking News from Fox, Obama has rejected the idea to postpone the Presidential Debate. It will be interesting to see the Polls over the next few days, will this help or hurt Obama and McCain.
Obama Debate Problem ?
ABC News: Reports that the Obama Campaign has stated that the Debate is on for Friday. If McCain is Washington D.C doing his job, while Obama is seen as pandering to his base, the press this will have a negative effect on Obama, he has to admit he lost this round and get himself back to D.C. This is a chance for Obama to show leadership, this is a major economic crisis, a tsunami is the making, McCain has shown leadership will Obama.
Obama out FOXED by McCain
Breitbart.com: Reports that it was the Obama Camp that wanted the two sides to come together on the economic bail but McCain was first to the press. The McCain Camp has very fast feet, it saw an opening to make Obama look weak and took it, that is Chicago Politics, hat off to McCain Camp if the story is true, so far no second news outlet has reported this story this way so far....Other news outlets have the same story, hats off to Breitbart.com, was on the ball....
McCain on BAIL OUT - Drudge Report
Drudge Report: Breaking news on Drudge, Senator John McCain has suspended his campaign as to solve the economic tsunami that is a threat to the USA economic security. McCain also wants to delay the Presidential Debate on Friday. This is a very good move by McCain, make him look like the statesmen, what will Obama make of this and how will his campaign react to the news.
700 Billion ?
BBC News: Reports that the US Congress is cool on the idea of a bail out for Wall Street. The Congress should refuse the request, there will be hurt for a while in the Western Economy but it will come back stronger, the US Government cant take all this debt on without an increase in taxes in the long term, better some pain now and a more efficient economy in the future. If your in the USA let your representative in congress understand you don't want your tax dollars to go to the rich of Wall Street, greed has been good for Wall Street, well let them now have the pain of job cuts and less bonuses.

Obama ATTACKS Biden
Fox News: Reports that Senator Obama has been critical of his running mate, Senator Joe Biden. The Obama Camp needs to place someone they trust with Biden, to keep an eye on him, to recall to him that he is the Vice - President Nominee and Obama is head of the ticket. Biden is a very lose cannon, one does wonder does Obama think he chose the wrong person as his VP.
Bush and Afghanistan
The New York Times: Reports that the Bush Administration is holding a review in to its polices in Afghanistan. As Iraq was to Bush, Afghanistan will be to the next President, is can be postulated that the terrorists will want to test the new President in Afghanistan, it can be argued that the terrorists will try some kind of Vietnam Tet event; 1968 the Viet Cong had major uprising in the major towns of Vietnam, the Viet Cong lost but the event itself broke the American will in Vietnam; if its a Obama Presidency expect the terrorists to try to show that Obama is weak, either an a major attack in Afghanistan or on the American homeland. Thus the next American President will have to deal with Afghanistan and terror he will be tested by both, the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan allows the terrorists to attack both Afghanistan and Pakistan, these badlands are a heaven for the terrorists, even the British Empire could not control them during the time of the Raj. On the terrorist front, in 1993 we the first attack on the World Trade Centre by Car Bomb, in 2001 we 9/11. The common factor these are the first years in Clinton and Bush Administrations, also Gordon Brown had a terrorist event after coming in to power. Thus the security services have to be on guard, the eyes and ears have to be open, to quote an old line from Hill Street Blues, " Lets do it to them before they do it to us. " The world of 2009 could be a very risk place if the West is not secure in its security.
Biden attacks Obama!!
Fox News: Reports that Senator Biden has attacked his own side, the Senator a friend of Senator McCain was reacting to the attack ad by Obama, the ad pointed out that McCain did not use the computer. As the article points out and Biden being a friend of McCain will know, McCain's torture in Vietnam makes the use of a keyboard very hard for the ex POW, Tortured Senator. I give Biden some bonus points for class, nice to see him stand up for a friend, its a pity his campaign does not have that class. On the political front its a mistake, to quote an old line, zip it Senator, this Chicago politics, its tough and one one man can be President. The Obama Camp is from Chicago, they don like to come second, recall 1960.
Hollywood vs The Clintons
The Times: Reports how Hollywood has turned on the Clintons, the actor and comedian, Chris Rock has attacked Bill Clinton for his lack of support for Senator Obama. The sole point of the Clintons is power, this year was meant to be about Hillary Clinton, that was the deal, Bill Clinton and then Hillary Clinton in the White House after the Impeachment. If Obama wins in November the Clintons are finished as leaders of the Democratic Part, Bill Clinton is a Alpha Male, he can not stand the thought that his time is over as the rock star of the Democratic Party. Bill Clinton could not stand Ronald Reagan either, his Vice - President won in 1988, Al Gore lost 2000, that really hurt the Clinton legacy. Hillary Clinton was meant to be be the restoration, this will not happen, thus Clinton will be the guy between the Bush Presidencies, and that hurts if your Bill Clinton.
Economic Tsunami ?
BBC News: Reports on the delay in bailing out Wall Street. The question has to be asked, is Western Economy better served with an Economic Tsunami, clear the dead wood, all those banks that have given loans to people who could not afford the loans in the first place are being bailed out by the US Government and the tax payer. It can be argued that these banks should be allowed to fail, the profit part of these banks will be taken over, and new economic order will develop. The Liberals in Congress want to add their own pork to the bail out, every time a company faces the threat of going under, Liberals in Congress will use the Government bail out of Wall Street as an example of what the government should do when a company is going bust. The West wont see another 1930s style depression, the USA and UK has a welfare structure, so there wont be any soup kitchens, of course Bush and Congress will get a deal, they don't want to be another Hoover of the 1929. The question that should be asked is this the right way, from pain we could create a new economic system.

Race and Votes
New York Daily News: Reports that Obama could lose up to six points on Election Day due to the fact that he is an African - American. This is not news, in New Hampshire Obama was getting poll leads of seventeen percent and he lost the Primary to Hillary Clinton, if it is a close political race Obama will lose the election, it is that simple folks.
The Cracks widen for Brown
BBC News: Reports on a overheard conversation between the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband an aide, the Secretary of State stated that his speech to the Party Conference was fitted to show loyalty to the PM, he didn't want to make a speech that was seen as a threat to the PM. Ministers should always go by the idea that walls have ears, and the press have a glass up to the wall! Advice to PM Brown, you have to win the up and coming Scottish By - Election or you will be out by Xmas.

Saving the WOLRD MARKET!
New York Times: Reports that Bush bail out of the Western Economy will cover firms outside the USA but with links the USA firms, the Times write the following, " The administration suggested that it might adjust its proposal, initially restricted to purchasing assets from financial institutions based in the United States, to enable foreign firms with United States affiliates to make use of it as well. " The Conservative within me is starting to have problem with this massive bail out, the point of the Capitalist system is that some get rich and others don't, we don't live in the USSR. If the USA government bails these companies with bad debts out, at what point do you say no, in the global economic world a company has to be efficient and make money, but it could be argued that the Bush Administration is creating a safety net that Liberals will scream for every time a company goes belly up, the Great Depression was bad but the economy came out of it at the end, no I am not arguing for another Great Depression but the Western Economic System can not become another USSR, this has to be a one off deal, or other wise the economy will go in to the toilet.
Presidential Debates
Telegraph: Reports on how McCain and Obama are getting ready for their Debates. The problem for the journalists covering this is the fact that both sides try to undersell their candidates, thus Obama is not great at debates and McCain gets angry. If you want to see the reality watch the West Wing Show when Leo is going to debate, and both sides spin how they are going to debate. I do wonder sometimes that the 08 race is so much like the last season of the West Wing, could they not save money and just run the show again, and have the election n November.
PRESIDENT JED BARTLET and OBAMA
New York Times: A very witty article by Ms Dowd of the LIBERAL New York Times, Bartlet of the West Wing giving advice to Obama. The one problem I have with the article is the following, she has Bartlet stating the following, " It’s not bad enough she’s forcing her own daughter into a loveless marriage to a teenage hood, she wants the rest of us to guide our daughters in that direction too? " Does the elite media want Palin's daughter to have an abortion so it confirms their view of the world, do the they want to sacrifice a human life to make a cheap political point. Also Bartlet would never use that, Bartlet was a disaster as President, arrogant much like Obama but he would never get in the gutter and use the family of candidates against them, Mr Sheen aka Jed Bartlet was asked to run for the Senate in Ohio, he knew the difference but reality and a TV show, he wise was to decline the offer. I do wish they bring back the West Wing, no matter who wins , also get back Mr Martin Sheen as Bartlet, he cold be the Jimmy Carter of the TV Presidents. So back to the point, poor New York Times and Ms Dowd, expect better from a good writer.

Angels fear to TREAD !
The Times: Reports that former PM Tony Blair has gone one the left wing CNN and the equally left wing show the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Of course the issue was Iraq, the left wing in the United States will never accept that the War with Iraq was the right thing, but it is nice to see that Blair is showing the Churchill spirit by taking on those that oppose him, just why didn't he sack Gordon Brown when he had the chance, he okay out of the country we still have Brown.
Palin called DISABLED
Fox News: Reports that Democratic Representative Charles Rangel has called Governor Sarah Palin Disabled. This is a new low by Democrats, they don't care now how low they have to fight, winning at any cost has become their motto.
A Mess!
The New York Times: Report how both the Republicans and Democrats are keen to avoid the blame for the economic mess. It has to be serious for both sides know that if they don't stand together they will sink on the good ship US Economy. The Congress has to cut pork spending on their favourite issues, the Republicans have to regulate the market like President Teddy Roosevelt. This could be the time for the sides to come together for the benefit of the country.
700 BILLION request by BUSH
The New York Times: Reports on the amount of money the Bush Administration is requesting to bail out the American economy and major companies. This shows that over the years that the government has not kept an eye on the Wall Street, this is something out of that great move Wall Street, the richer get richer and the Middle and Working class get taken for a ride and their money. The Government in the West have to keep an eye on the Financial Markets, the Western Economy cant not be allowed to be flushed down the toilet because a major company or companies take on bad debt as a way to make money in the long term, Bush has learned the lesson of Hoover, Hoover did not act, he was a Republican and he lost to FDR, the next Republican President was Eisenhower.
Weekend Polls
Well folks it has not been a boring few days on the economic front, it seems we avoided the bullet of another Great Depression, the US Government is taking on the debt of the United States, President Hoover did not act and thus we had the Great Depression and Bush has gone to other extreme, he has bailed out Major Companies with bad debt. Of the two options I would support the Bush Plan, but the question has to be asked who is going to pay for this, the answer has to be the tax payer. Lets look at the Polls Folks.
Gallup: Reports that Senator Obama has a five percent lead over McCain. The Poll found the following, Obama 49% - McCain 44%. The Western Economy faced going in to the toilet and Obama is only five points ahead, this should worry the Obama Camp, Obama should with kind of news be in double digit lead, and he is still under 50%. If the Economic Plan by the Bush Administration works, I think McCain could pull off a victory in November.
Rasmussen: This poll finds a closer race, in essence a tie, the poll finds the following, Obama 48% - McCain 47%. The Obama Camp needs to have a sharper message on the Economy, should get in some of the Clinton old hands of the 1992 Campaign. In the West Wing Season 7, the Republican Candidate had to cope with a Nuclear Accident, this Economic threat is its equal, McCain has to show that he understand the Middle Class, he has to become their Reagan, he cant say that the economy is fine, it looks like something Paris Hilton would say because she is rich. The McCain Camp has to show his maverick streak, be firm with Wall Street, need better government control of the money markets.
Hoteline/FDTracking: This also shows a close race between Obama and McCain, the poll finds the following, Obama 45% - McCain 44%. If Obama cant get over 50% by Election Day it can be postulated that McCain will win, the issue that no one wants to discuss is race, are the voters in the United States willing to elect the first African - American to the Presidency, Obama is Liberal that is enough of an issue but his race has not an legitimate point not to vote for him, Obama could be the next JFK or Reagan, but he has to stand up to his Party and show that he will not be pushed around by the Liberal Left of the Democratic Party.
Rights for Agency Workers!
Over the past few weeks I have worked for Employment Agency, they sent me to a major company in the area, as the company needed workers, I did not get an Interview, just start the following day. Thus from the 21/8/08 to 19/9/08 I worked for this major Company, not taking a day off due to illness or holiday. I discovered that the Company had plans to move me to a Call Centre environment, as I have a speech Impediment I informed them of this fact, on Friday after work I was informed that I was let go, one can postulate after that all hard work one would have been tested one one's phone skills, but no, just the boot, but this was not surprising. after only a week and two days without no training after that, in less I asked I was placed on the work, the Company is in the profit Industry. I wonder if their clients can appreciate the lack of training by this major company, its outlets are in bookies, pubs, Casinos all over the world. One would think that the Company would have the decency to inform people if they are being let go, but there is something rotten, a company that does not inspire loyalty, has a high burn rate for those that work for it, under a year seems to be the duration of employment. I wish the company would have inspired me to but no, just shows that a company, will use and abuse its employers does not deserve the trust or loyalty of those it employs, it can not be called a gentleman but a cad, yes Sir a Cad, the Gipper inspired his supporters, this company would make one take the pledge in its business.
I call on the government to take action as to protect Agency workers, if you are disabled and a company takes you on, it should at least try to find other work for you that does not involve you having to leave the company, what shame for a Labour Government and the Welsh Assembly.

The Close 08 Election Race
Fox News: Reports Democrats are worried by the Polls, why is Senator Obama not well ahead of McCain, the economic news is bad, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are still hot and Obama is still in tie with McCain. If Obama goes in to the general election in a tied race with McCain you have to call the race for McCain, as was shown in NH,Obama had a lead in double digits but lost to Hillary Clinton by a few points, Obama needs a double digit lead as to off set those voters who will not vote for an African - American candidate for President.
Race and the 08 Election
CNN: An article that states that the reason that the polls are so close is the fact that Obama is the first African - American Candidate for President who has a real chance of winning. This is true, in the 21 Century race and gender should have no part in who you vote for, but voters are human, its a flaw, race or gender biases could be removed from the DNA, would vote for such a move. The voter should vote for the candidate because of their views and character, their external appearance is neither here or there, if you vote against Obama vote because of policies not because he is black, if that is your reason don't vote, its wrong and not fair, humans should be better, if not what is the point.
How long for BROWN !
BBC News: Another Cabinet Minister has shown that the power of Gordon Brown is on the decline, James Purnell the Work and Pensions Secretary has stated he would not be critical of those that want PM Brown out of No 10. The once great Stalin figure of Gordon Brown has become someone to pity, a politician who has waited years to become PM and he has shown that he is not up the job. I will be very surprised to see Gordon Brown as PM by Xmas, Labour wants a chance at the next election, they will throw Brown under the next Scottish Bus, should Labour lose the next Scottish By - Election. I wonder if Tony Blair wants a Deputy in the Middle East.

Liberals on the ATTACK
Telegraph: Reports that Liberal pressure groups are planning to go on the attack in support of Obama. The success of the Republican Convention and the choice by McCain of Palin has thrown a curve ball at the Democrats, Senator Obama just might have lost this election.
Cheney the DARK MASTER!
The New York Times: Reviews another liberal book that attacks the Vice President. The Elite Media need to smell the coffee, Vice - President Cheney has been one of the best Vice - Presidents in the history of the USA.

The Truth, Always the Truth
The New York Times: The Family of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, convicted spies, sentenced to death, have accepted that Mr Rosenberg was a spy for the USSR. The Rosenberg's betrayed the USA, thus they faced the fate of all traitors, they expected no sympathy as they worked for the USSR, they will not get any here on this blog.
Minister OUT
BBC News: Reports on the resignation of David Cairns, as a Minister in the Scottish Office. It will take a Cabinet Ministers resignation to push this ball down to its logical end, the resignation of Gordon Brown. Do they have the balls is the question?

The Great Depression ?
BBC News: Reports on the demise of another American Bank. Is this the Great Depression, the simple answer is no, the welfare state in the UK and the USA was not in place during the early stages of the Great Depression. The Governments can not afford for the major collapse of the Western Economy, thus you will hear news that this is the next Great Depression, it helps the 24/7 news cycle but it is not real, the Markets have to correct the self created problems of to much debt and not enough capital. On the whole we have low inflation, low unemployment, this is not the 1930s, you don't have to go to a soup line yet, rough patch but not the Great Crash of the 1930s.

George Smiley on the Dark Side ?
The Sunday Times: Reports that John le Carré, the great writer on the Great Game between the West and the USSR thought about defecting, to see what the other side was like, he was wise and thought better of the move to the USSR. President Ronald Reagan had the Soviet Union right, it was a Evil Empire that had to be destroyed, Evil can not be talked to, appeased, it has to be destroyed, that was the gift to the World from the Gipper.
Death in Afghanistan
BBC News: Reports on the death of another British Soldier in Afghanistan. The total now stands at 120. Those that are fighting in Afghanistan are fighting to allow the people of Afghanistan to be free and to show that Afghanistan can have a peaceful existence, Afghanistan has suffered to much and lost to much over the years.

Brown on the Ropes ?
Iain Dale's Diary: Has an Exclusive, more Labour MP's have asked for leadership nomination papers. If Brown does a poor speech at the Party Conference and was to lose the another Scottish By - Election don't be surprised to see the removal men come to 10 Downing Street to remove the Piano again!
Biden THE EXTRA
CNN News: Reports on how Senator Biden has become a bit part actor in the Presidential Race, Palin has gets all the press coverage, while Biden could wear Toga like a Roman Senator and would not get in to the news, Obama mush wish he had chosen Hillary Clinton.

The Cracks in the Dam
The Times: Reports on the latest cracks in the Brown Government. A Labour Whip, a government member who makes sure the MP's vote the right way, has called for a leadership contest. I will not be shocked if PM Brown is out on his ear before the New Year, politics is a ruthless business, its about winning at the end of the day.
Death in Afghanistan
BBC News: Reports on the death of another British Soldier in Afghanistan. The total now stands at 119. This will be a long and bloody war, all our UK Military Personnel in Afghanistan are heroic and deserve our respect.
The New Iron Lady?
The New York Times: Reports on the first major interview by Governor Palin for ABC News. As the Governor did not fall flat on his face, the Liberal New York Times is not happy, they consider themselves to be the judge if she is fit to be the Vice - President, the arrogance of the left.
The Obama Effect
FT: Reports on how Senator Obama might be a negative effect on House and Senate Democrats. If Obama is seen as a loser, those that won in Republican Districts and States will hope that voters do a split ticket, vote for McCain but keep a Democratic House and Senate. If Obama cant count on the support of local and state leaders he will have a tough fight on his hands in November.
Weekend Polls
Lets look at the weekend polls folks, on the whole it looks good for McCain, but its a long race and it will be a tight finish.
Gallup: The latest Gallup tracking polls has McCain leading Obama, its not that he is leading that counts but the range of polls that show McCain leading. The Gallup Poll finds the following, McCain 48% - Obama 45%, Obama needs to get back in the lead, the more McCain is seen as the front runner, the more easy it will be for Independents to use this as a reason to vote for McCain. Obama needs a game changer, it has to be debates.
Rasmussen: Reports as does Gallup that McCain has a three percent lead over Obama. The poll finds the following, McCain 49% - Obama 46%. In this contest the Presidential and the Vice - Presidential Debates could have a major effect on the outcome. McCain and Palin have to be on the top of their game. On the other had Obama has to tough up, in the debates when he has hard questions he folds, he is not good under tough questions, Obama needs to prep his debate skills.

Lighter Side of Politics!
The New York Times: Reports on the cock up agent that is Senator Joe Biden. In a long line of mistakes, Biden has admitted that Hillary Clinton might have been a better choice for Obama. Governor Palin should take these mistakes as red herrings, the Obama Campaign might be trying to set the Governor up for the Vice Presidential Debates, Governor Palin should treat Biden as a great white shark, she has to be tough and be ready for the Debates.
9/11
BBC News: Reports on the anniversary of 9/11. This one event has defined a generation, from this we have seen the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the hunt for terrorists and how the civic public have come to accept if not the left wing, that a kind of torture has to be used to protect those that want to have freedom. The mere fact that we will accept torture shows how why the civic society hates UBL and his terrorist group. It is hard to think that pre - 9/11 that people would accept the need for extreme methods to deal with terrorists, now we want Jack Bauer out there doing what has to be done, a country has to get its hands dirty to protect civic society.
Death in Afghanistan
BBC News: Reports on the death of another British Soldier. The toll of the dead now stands at 118. How long and what for is the question, no Army for good or ill has manged in Afghanistan. Pakistan is a heaven for the terrorists, they can attack in Afghanistan and scuttle back over the border to Pakistan. The Badlands of the Pakistan and Afghanistan border has to be dealt with, we have to win or get out.
Men and Women, Love and Hate !
The Times: Reports on the attempt by Alfred Hitchcock to destroy the career of one of his leading ladies. It seems from great Directors to present day politicians, that men can not stand Independent women, I wonder if Senator Obama would have used the lipstick attack on Governor Palin if he had been a man, it has to be asked, racism or sexism has no reason to exist in American Politics.
McCain Surge at HOME
The New York Times: Reports on the large crowd that turned up in Virgina to hear McCain/Palin. The Liberal New York Times must have their knickers in a twist, they are so in the tank for Obama that the thought of a McCain win would send them over edge, yes they might start to act like the Old Newspaper of Record.

Palin and Abortion
Politico: Reports that the Democrats have gone even dirtier in their attempts to smear Governor Palin. It seems that the Democrats think that Governor Sarah Palin was chosen to be the running mate of Senator McCain because she has not had an Abortion. This is the lowest I have seen a Election Campaign go, Governor Palin has just given birth to a baby with a disability, do the Democrats wish she had an Abortion so it meets their agenda of the world, what a sick Party, lets hope Obama has the guts to rebuke Dems who use this argument.
Never Attack Your Base!
Politico: Reports that Obama is attacking the press for falling for the McCain Spin. The Senator is following the old Nixon line attack the press, this is a mistake for two reasons, 1, the press is his base, this might come as shock to Obama, but you fool or make them angry at your political peril, they can always go back to supporting McCain. 2, The election cycle of the lipstick remark did not star with the press, Obama put his foot in his mouth, he has to learn that the National Press is the Press at end of the day, its a business, it needs viewers and readers, a fawning press might make Obama happy but voters smell that kind of corruption a mile away, the Liberal New York Times has lost many a reader due to its extreme liberal political agenda. Obama if he was wiser should have said sorry and sent Palin some flowers, charm cant win you Presidency but no charm can lose it, just ask, Carter, Mondale, Gore, Kerry. Obama smell the coffee or tea!
Obama and the Elite Media
BBC News: Reports on the now infamous lipstick remark by Obama. The Senator has come out fighting, accusing the Republicans of creating a row our of hot air. It was interesting seeing Obama today, he stated that the elite media could see who was right, that's the problem with Obama, the elite media is in the tank for Obama, Obama is hearing what he wants to hear, this not so subtle attack on Governor Palin could cost Obama long term, Obama should learn that charm gets you a long way, that was always the charge thrown at the Gipper by Democrats. Obama needs to act as if he is in the change agent, he should have said he he was sorry, that would have shown he could see when he makes mistakes, but this and his refusal to see that the surge was right in Iraq has shown that Obama has a character and a tin ear when it comes to politics.
Lipstick on a pig, Obama on Palin
Politico: Reports that Senator Obama tried to use the lipstick quote of Palin against her, as a pig is still a pig even with a lipstick. I think Senator Obama has forgotten that he is running against a woman, one can see the Ads in Ohio, Obama the pig quote and the a picture of Palin. The simple question, who is the real change, Obama who is a Chicago Politician and thus a street fighter or Palin, the wife of five children and a grandmother, does Obama have a problem with grandmothers, he threw his own grandmother under the bus, of course she just bought him up, didn't help him like his racist Pastor.
Obama's Friends
Just seen Senator Obama on the No Spin Zone with Mr Bill O' Reilly. Mr O' Reilly asks tough but fair questions, the Senator was was weak when he had to justify his left wing friends, former terrorists, racist pastor, left wing bloggers, all this does not help Senator Obama. The voter might be looking for reasons not to vote for the first African American Candidate for President. This weak interview would be reason, it seems so far that Obama had a plan to win the nomination but is flushing it down the toilet to pander to the left. The Senator has to find a issue that he can separate himself from the left, in fact he had to make the left angry with him, the US voter will not vote for a candidate who can not stand up to his own Party. Does Obama really want to win, that is the question, a good politician has to be ruthless is Obama, he was with his own grandmother, will he with people who have helped him in the past in Chicago.

Obama and Money
IHT: Reports that Obama might have problems in getting the money in, as he has in the past. The article points out that Obama has to collect money while running a Presidential Campaign while McCain gets public money. Money is the mothers milk of politics, its not how much you have left, Kerry had money in the bank in 2004 but still lost, the question is does the voter buy you as President, that is the problem that Obama has at the present, is the USA ready for the a President Obama or do they prefer President McCain.
Iraq and Afghanistan
BBC News: Reports that President George W. Bush has stated that the USA is winning in Iraq, troops can be removed from Iraq, and half in the region of 4500 can be sent to Afghanistan. On the whole Iraq has been won, Afghanistan is going down the toilet, but winning in Afghanistan is not an option, we need new thinking, if Obama could think of something new that would be great but pandering to the left does not help, we need new polices and people in country, Afghanistan will define the Presidency of the next President.

McCain vs Obama
Thus fiction becomes reality folks, the first Gallup Poll taken after the finishing of the DNC and RNC shows McCain with five percent lead over Obama. The exact figure that the Republican lead the Democrat in the last season of the West Wing, Season 7.
Gallup: The McCain/Palin ticket had a very good convention, they got as Gallup states a five percent bounce form their convention, is rural American coming back to McCain. The Poll result is as follows, McCain 49% - Obama 44%. The Palin pick has bought in voters that voted for Reagan and George W. Bush, the question can McCain keep them up to November. The Presidential Debates will be very important for the result.
USA Today/Gallup: This Poll shows a even bigger bounce for McCain/Palin. It can be argued this is an outrider, the margin is large for McCain over Obama. The Polls finds the following, McCain 54% - Obama 44%. This race will be a lot closer, will shall see the Polls in a week, the will be close again.
The Light On ( As in the Brain )!
BBC News: Reports that the Russians have agreed to leave Georgia. The light has gone on in the Russian Brain, the critical reaction has not been good for Russia, lets hope they keep their word this time.

Obama the Flip Flopper on TAX
Fox News: Reports that Senator Obama is moving on his policy to end the Bush Tax Cuts of 2001. In the fight against Hillary Clinton he wanted to reverse the Bush Tax Cuts but now that the economy is going in to recession he knows this would be a disaster, tax cuts help in a recession, not tax hikes on the wealthy. If Obama makes this move the left of the Democratic Party will not be happy, they don’t care about reality they just want to raise taxes, lets face it the Hollywood type is not affected, it’s the Middle Class that gets kicked in the backside.
New Poll, McCain vs Obama
Gallup: The Daily Tracking Poll has McCain ahead of Obama. The Poll finds the following, McCain 48% - Obama 45%. As mentioned in previous post, this kind of margin was held by the Republican Candidate in the last season of the West Wing, season 7. The Democrat won that election. In the real world, this race will come down to the debates, Obama does not do well in debates, when soft and easy questions he is okay but under tough questions he comes across like any other out of his depth politician. Lets recall a speech is one thing as Hillary Clinton pointed out but actual achievement is something that Obama lacks, McCain needs to make sure that his debate skills are up to scratch, it going to be fun debates folks.
"We are the Change..", Ronald Reagan
Sometimes you have to look at the past to see the future, as a hobby I record historical events, like the 1988 Republican National Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event was recorded due to the fact that President Ronald Reagan would give the a speech looking back at the success of his administration and the future. Today I had a chance to look at that speech again, one does miss the Gipper, Reagan as always could see the future, in 1988 the Democrats had a their favorite line, time for change, well Reagan had a great line in reply, the President stated, " And now we hear talk that it's time for a change. Well, ladies and gentlemen, another friendly reminder: We are the change. We rolled up our sleeves and went to work in January of 1981. We focused on hope, not despair. We challenged the failed policies of the past because we believed that a society is great not because of promises made by its government but only because of progress made by its people. And that was our change. " McCain is the change agent for the United States, he has taken on his own Party, what has Obama ever really done, but beat a Clinton. McCain due to his War Record sees the USA as a Shining City on Hill in many respects, that old Reagan line suites McCain. Obama still fighting the wars of the 1960s. McCain is the heir to Reagan, lets hope the people of the USA see this and make him President.

The Weekend Polls
Lets have a look at the Polls folks, and see if we can rad the tea leaves.
Gallup: Reports a close race but with Obama ahead by 2%. The Daily Tracking Poll finds the following, Obama 47% - McCain 45%. Gallup does state the full impact of the RNC will be in the Monday results. As stated in the past a close and Obama will lose, you have to take in to account those voters who lie to the pollsters, thus if Obama cant get a bigger lead he will lose in November. In the West Wing season 7, Gallup had the Democrats up by 5%, lets see what the monday results show.
Rasmussen: Reports a tied race in the 08 Campaign. In this poll both McCain and Obama are on 48%. If I was a Democrats I would start to get worried, if running for the House and Senate do you want Obama to Campaign with you, in the Urban areas Obama should have high positives but in the rural part of the country, the remark by Obama that country people are bitter and thus hold to old views has not gone down well, so in a odd way could the Obama effect help the Republicans when it comes to the House and the Senate.
RNC Bounce for McCain
Zogby: Has a new Poll out, McCain/Palin ticket is ahead of Obama/Biden by 4%. The Poll found the following, McCain/Palin 49.7% - Obama/Biden 45.9%. This shows that the Obama Speech bounce was negated by the Palin news. Also McCain beat Obama in the ratings for their speech's. Also this lead of 4% is around the same level that the Republicans held in the last season of the West Wing and in the end the Democrats won. This will be a very close race, it could come down the debates.

Obama vs McCain, McCain WINS
The New York Times: Reports on the TV ratings for the Conventions, and McCain's speech beat that of Obama's and Palin's. One can see the faces of the Editors of the Liberal New York Times, they will be aghast!! What Fun!!.
A Chance ?
New York Post: A article by Dick Morris, looks at how the Palin pick for VP has give the McCain and the Republicans a second chance in November. If McCain does win, he has to thank Sarah Palin, the loathing of the Republicans by the elite media showed, with there attack on Governor Palin, her gutsy speech made her the star and made the elite media look like fools.

The War Within by Bob Woodward
Fox News: Reports on the new book by Bob Woodward, The War Within, the President is seen by Woodward has having aged in Office due to the Wars. I think this is more a LBJ complex that a generation of reporters have, as Bush is low in the Polls, they want to Bush in the role of LBJ, tired, worn out, wanting to get out. The impression of the President that most appeals to Liberal Media. On the other hand the book does state as the article points out that Iraq Surge has worked, and McCain is seen as a truth teller when it comes to the Bush Presidency. Have got my order in for the book, cant wait to read it, have read all the Woodward books on Bush, this one should be the final one on the Bush Presidency while Bush is President. Will Obama give Woodward the same access, have my doubts, Woodward will miss Bush.

Obama on Iraq
Fox News: Reports that Senator Obama has granted an interview to Bill O’Reilly of Fox News, the Senator has stated that the surge has worked in Iraq. As this was the policy favoured by Senator McCain, it shows leadership and courage by McCain. Obama has finally shown that he can see the reality in Iraq. Also one has to state that Obama has show courage by a) stating this about Iraq, the left wing of the Democratic Party will not be happy, and B) by doing an interview with Mr O' Reilly.
Update: Obama with Mr O' Reilly was weak, he cant handle hard interviews, this is down to the elite media, they don't give him hard questions, thus when he has to deal with hard questions he blows it big time, he would not admit he was wrong about the surge, its the elitist in him, if he was wrong about such an important policy he would have to question his other policy view points. As an elitist myself I can smell arrogance a mile away, its the arrogance of the Intellectual, does not matter what the truth is, the truth is what I want it to be, does not matter if the fact are counter, will simple keep my own position. The difference between VIEWS and the Senator is a matter of being self aware, is the Senator self aware or does he think his press statements are the universal truth. If Obama does become President, one has to hope that he grows in Office or the West will have Jimmy Carter Mark 11.
Tied Race
CBS News: Reports on a new Poll that finds the race between Obama and McCain tied at 42%. If Obama cant get a bigger lead in the polls he will lose the election, a narrow margin and one has to take in to consideration those that lie to pollsters. As New Hampshire showed when Obama had a double digit lead, he lost by few points. This will be a very close race, it is not a given that Obama will win, what ever the elite media might think of the race.
Another Thatcher ?
Telegraph: Reports that Sarah Palin, the VP to McCain is a STAR, her speech could make her the next Thatcher and Reagan. Lets hold on that Crown, Thatcher and Reagan had the gift of communication but it was based on a a true understanding of the voters, how at the end of the day, people want to be free and for the country to be lead by a strong leader, Governor Pailn has a long road to be another Thatcher or Reagan.
Death in Afghanistan
BBC News: Reports that another Soldier has been killed in Iraq. The total losses of UK Military Personnel now stands at 117, this will not be the last death in Afghanistan, the country since the time of Alexander of Great has seen the death of hope of many Armies, some noble some not, we are the noble country in search of peace in Afghanistan.
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
Lieberman at the RNC
Fox News: Reports on how the speech by Lieberman might be to much for the Democratic Party. At the end of the its is down to Iraq, Lieberman was right and the Dems had it wrong. If the USA had followed the policy of the Democratic Party, Iraq would have been lost and Iran would be even more of a major threat.
Lieberman and the Republicans
The New York Times: Reports that Independent Democrat Senator Lieberman will have a starring role at the Republican Convention, Bush will have a minor role. It is the fun part of politics, Lieberman the VP nominee to Gore in 2000 was defeated by Bush and Cheney, now eight years later he is speaking at the Republican National Convention, it shows that there are great statesmen on both sides of the political divide.
The Local and National VIEW
CNN News: Reports that Senator Obama is critical of the experience of Governor Palin of Alaska. If Obama thinks that running a small town as Mayor, think Chicago Politics more local, and Governor of a State is the same as running for President then the Senator is starting to believe his own press statements.

A Obama Bounce ?
Commentary: Looks at why in some Polls Obama has not gotten a bounce from his Convention. In my view it was the setting, the McCain Camp has defined Obama as a Rock Star, the speech should have had a simpler setting, not as if Obama was trying to sell him self as the next American Idol.
