When you have a economic crisis it’s a good way to push your Agenda, thus the Conservative view that Government should be limited and that the welfare state has to be cut to a narrow shape, the Labour Party under Blair and Brown spent like drunken sailors, this has lead to the UK being within a step of having its Credit Card ripped up by the Markets. Thus the Coalition Government has enough good will to do drastic cuts over the next five years, will be interesting to see how the Lib Dems cope with being hated, its the norm for the Tories, UK politics has not been this fun since the 80s folks.
