Guardian: Reports that China has agreed to have talks at the UN for a resolution to place more sanctions on Iran. The article states the following, " Sanctions – especially those backed by the UN – provide...leverage ". The question is what will China allow, it has been reported that the Obama Administration has agreed to lessen the toughness of the resolution to get China on board, but this could send a mixed message to the regime in Tehran. If the new UN resolution is seen as weak the Regime in Tehran will see that Obama is agreeing to Iran becoming a nuclear armed power, but if the resolution is tough then Iran could move faster to get the bomb. After North Korea gained the bomb the West had to face the fact that North Korea was part of the nuclear club, thus the visit by former President Bill Clinton to get two reporter out of North Korea. As noted in previous post Iraq is moving in to the orbit of Iran due to the fact that Iran will become a nuclear armed power. Thus the Obama Administration has only two choices, strike Iran or contain Iran, but even that has a problem, will Israel allow a nuclear armed Iran. The Obama Administration might not have the final say when it comes to Iran.
