New Polls and the 08 Race

Lets have a look at the weekend Polls folks, who is up and who is down and who needs to watch the West Wing more, season 6 and 7.

Newsweek
: A new poll from the Liberal Newsweek, well it seems that their last poll which had Obama in double point lead over McCain was very much an outrider. A new Poll has the following results, Obama 44% - McCain 41%. Thus another 3% margin between the candidates. As stated this is going to be a very close race, if you want a feel for the Campaigns watch the last season of the West Wing, the closes they ever got to real politics and very accurate.

Gallup
: Reports that Obama has taken a six point lead over McCain. As from their last tracking poll period Obama is ahead by an extra three percent. The poll finds the following, Obama 48% - McCain 42%. It can be postulated that the Obama Camp should be quite happy, their candidate had never been behind McCain and he has on the whole not fallen below 45%, but as stated a few times, the race is still to close and Obama needs to make his big leads last. On the other hand McCain is still in the race, but has a problem getting over the 45% mark. McCain needs to keep on message and make sure his supporters can keep to the Campaign message.

Rasmussen Reports: Reports a tied race between Obama and McCain. The poll finds the following, Obama 47% - McCain 46%. It can be postulated with the tensions with Iran and the economy in the toilet that the folks are looking for someone with a safe pair of hands to lead the USA. This view if develops could help McCain more than Obama. In a rather ironic way, the worse things look, people will turn to the older guy, that being McCain. Lets see the polls at the end of the week.
