Conservative Democrats and Obama's Health Reform

CNN News: Reports that Conservative Democrats in the House could block the Obama's Health Reform. The simple reason is that these House Representatives come from Conservative districts, a major concern for more conservatives areas of the USA is the money that Obama is spending, the health reform package has been estimate to cost over a trillion dollars, yes TRILLION. The failure of the Hillary Clinton health care reform in the 1990s cost the Democrats the House of Representatives, thus Obama is looking at 2012 and his re-election, he needs a major policy success, the economic plan that Obama pushed through Congress does not seem to be working, thus any new big ideas are looked at with suspicion. If the Republicans can keep together and the Blue Dog Democrats bolt the Obama plan will fail. Looking at the morale side it can be argued that the USA needs a health reform bill, it is not morale that people cannot get health care, the problem is the cost, as with the NHS in the UK, it gulps money, and thus any plan in the USA is going to cost. Taxing the rich during a recession/depression is not a good idea, thus Obama might find that he has to cut programmes that Democrats normally support. Obama cannot cut Defence, the War in Afghanistan is hotting up, and the USA is still in Iraq. In addition, Obama faces the problem of North Korea and Iraq. Thus Obama might find that his promise not to tax those that earn less that two hundred fifty thousand will have to be thrown out of the window. Thus one way or another Obama will lose the 2012 election, he will fail to pass health care reform, thus seen as a domestic failure or he will break his word on tax and be seen as another Bush 41.
