Conservatives have a 7% lead over Labour - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The Conservatives have had a BAD WEEK when it comes to Brexit, but they are still 7 point ahead of Labour.  There have been rumours of a General Election in October if the PM can not get her own way with Brexit.   The PM has to be tough, she should make it clear to the rebel MPs in the House of Commons that they could face a General Election, MPs will soon get the point, with elections you never know the result.   In a odd way a good week for the PM.

The UK's backstop for Northern Ireland - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The EU and the Republic Ireland are playing hardball with the UK when it comes to a solution over the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, it is time for the UK to make it clear that we will not be bullied by either.   The UK should walk out of the EU meetings, show the EU that will we will not put up with their foolish attempts to break the UK apart.  Also we should keep our money, and make it clear that if the EU and Republic play games the UK will take billions off the table.

Trump wants Russia back in the G7 - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

What is it with Russia and Trump, he gains no fans by wanting to have Russia back in the G7, so why bring it up.   One has the viewpoint that Russia must have something on Trump, no other President would state the above view after Russia was thrown out of the G8.  In the fact the G7 is only a day meeting for POTUS, he is off for his meeting with the North Koreans next Tuesday, one does wonder that the two mercurial and egoistical leaders will say to each other, as Tuesday will not be boring, this Summit and the votes in the House of Commons when it comes to Brexit.

The EU and Backstop - Update 4 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus the PM has put out one local fire, now faces a EU fire, the EU is not impressed with the UK Brexit backstop.   The PM has to be firm with the EU and the Republic of Ireland, the UK will not play this game, either accept what we want or we walk out with our money.   The PM has to be strong, she must make the EU think that she will walk, do they want to see Boris Johnson as PM or David Davis.  THE backstop is only a problem if the UK and the EU can not get a deal, thus the term backstop, the UK, well the Cabinet should make its mind up when it comes to Brexit, what form, and can they get it through the House of Commons.

Brexit Backstop - Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This Cabinet row might have some negative effects, those hard remainers within the House of Commons might not be afraid of the PM and thus vote with Labour on the Customs Union and the Single Market.   Also the EU must think that the PM is weak if she can not fire Cabinet Ministers who are pain.   This blog has predicted that the House of Commons will vote for the UK to remain in the House of Commons.  The Labour EEA plus amendment will not get many Conservative votes, while the Lords Amendment on the single market will have problems getting through as the Labour Party will leadership has told its MPs not to vote for it.   The Brexit supporters said the talks would be easy, they have not been, let's see who wins at the end of the day.

EU Backstop - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus PM May has kept her Brexit Secretary, if he had gone the PM could have lost her Foreign Secretary and her Trade Secretary, firm Brexit supporters.   The question is can the Chief Whips of the Conservative Party keep the troops in line, will the PM be defeated by the hard remainers in the House of Commons.  Also how many Labour MPs will vote for Brexit, neither political Party can be happy, next Tuesday IS Brexit Day.   This blog still support the UK staying in the Customs Union and the Single Market, it's the best outcome.

The UK Backstop for Brexit - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus last night and this morning we had speculation as to if David Davis the Brexit Secretary was going to resign if the backstop to Brexit did not have an end date.   In the end the Brexit Secretary WON the fight with the PM.   Of course next the hurdle is the EU, so far the EU has not been that impressed with the backstop, they are concerned about the Irish border, and how the time limited Backstop will effect border transport and trade.   The local wildfires are small compared to the major votes next week in the House of Commons.
