BBC News: Reports " Sir Keir Starmer is at the centre of a row over left-wing demands for Labour to back increasing the minimum wage to £15 an hour. "
Lets Get Real:
This is a good row for Starmer to have, he can make himself look the moderate taking on the LABOUR LEFT WING and their demands for excessive wage increases, as the motion before the Labour Party conference is not binding then Starmer can leave it out of the 2024 General Election manifesto or add it the economic outlook is better. Of course the worry for the Labour Party is that the Conservatives might nick it as a good idea, the Labour position is for 10 pound a hour, the Conservatives could offer more, lets say 12 pound, if the economy and business can manage that, let's recall there is a lot of small companies out there, with a few workers, and a 15 pound living wage would simply be to much for them, they would either lose workers or go out of business. On the whole not a bad week for Starmer, he has made it difficult for the Labour Left to challenge him by reforming the rules and also helped his MPs, by requiring a 50% of Labour members in Seats to vote before the MP can be challenged. The Deputy Leader has gotten herself in the mud, never call the Opposition scum, what does that make the voters. Also the left has shown their hand, and have failed to throw Starmer of course, he has to make a great speech on Wednesday, or he could be told his time is up, Labour wants to win the next election.
