Guardian Live - Spain: Reports that following in its 1.47pm post on the idea that the EU would help Spanish Banks without a direct request from the Spanish Government, the post states the German view, “ ..a bailout have been set back by both sides of the political divide in Germany, ”.
Lets Get Real:
The Germans are not stupid folks, they see the trap, the Spanish Banks get saved then the Spanish Government does not have to push hard with the reform, thus the German tax payer becomes the forever banker for the PIIGS. This would be political death in Germany folks, the German tax payer is not going to pay for the elections promises of the PIIGS. The Germans want a formal request by the Spanish Government, then the IMF can come in and run the Spanish economy, total humiliation for the Spanish, but it’s the only way the Germans will help.
