The New York Times: Reports that a statue of the late President, Gerald R. Ford has been placed in the Congressional Rotunda. This is fine honour for the late President, he cleaned up the White House after Watergate, he finished Watergate with a Presidential Pardon for Richard Nixon. The only fault one can say is that he should not have run in 1976, he beat the then ex Governor of California Ronald Reagan for the Republican Nomination. One can postulate that Ronald Reagan would have defeated Jimmy Carter the Democratic nominee, a no Carter Presidency would have done the US a favour. Also one has to recall that that when Ronald Reagan won the Republican nomination in 1980 he wanted former President Ford as his running mate, but Ford went on air to demand in many respects a Co - Presidency, thus Bush 41 got the nod to be VP, the rest is history folks. But overall a nice honour for the late President.
