The UK Cuts

Today the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne stated the framework for the Spending Review of 2010, at its core is the following, " Tough decisions need to be taken in order to reduce the unprecedented deficit. The Government is committed to achieving the bulk of this through reductions in Government spending, rather than tax increases, while protecting the quality of key frontline services...... It will be a complete re-evaluation of the Government’s role in providing public services. The SR will look at what services the Government should be providing and how to get more for less. ". In other words folks the good times are over, as the departing Chief Secretary to the Treasury stated the money has gone, thus pain for a lot of years folks, the cuts will have to be brutal to make sure the UK does not lose its AAA standard with the money markets. What is so hard to swallow is the fact that Labour have no real ideas for cuts, they had the power for thirteen years and they wrecked the economy, Mr Osborne must have some great patience as Labour in the House of Commons was all about protecting the Unions, one should ask them about the Country. These drastic and hard cuts will hit every part of society, and all Labour can do is kiss the hands of the Unions, shame on Labour.
