If you read all the books about the Kennedy and Nixon feud you can understand why Richard Nixon on one level envied JFK, the charm, the charisma etc but also hated him, lets be honest JFK didn’t invent dirty US politics but he did make it a science. Also there are the mob connections and the 1960 Democratic fight, its there but very hard to prove, but its interesting folks and we are still taking about the race, even Kennedy and Nixon would have liked that outcome.
