It can be postulated that Putin has been planning this for years, well since 2014 when he took the Crimea and suffered mild sanction. Putin is former KGB and considers the end of the USSR as the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century, he seems to have missed World War 1 and 2. The end of the USSR was the best thing that ever happened to the World, and it was done with minimum blood shed and deaths. President PUTIN thinks the West is WEAK, well with Biden in the Oval and UK PM still stuck in party gate he has thought he might as well take the chance to unite the former USSR. His 57 minute speech was like Hitler's book, in that 57 minute speech we saw history being rewritten and false claims made about the Ukraine. The WEST cannot back down to PUTIN, he has to be defeated and seen to be defeated. One hopes the good people of Ukraine fight well, make Russia pay for any broader invasion of Ukraine.
