BBC News: Report that the US Soldier that allegedly killed 16 Afghans, men, women and children has been named as Staff Sgt Robert Bales. It seems the Staff Sgt Bales is a Iraq veteran who was injured in Iraq, and saw a friend lose his leg in Afghanistan, thus you can see the defence argument, that he was not sane at the time of the killings, that his tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan had sent him over the edge. This might be true folks and one can understand the argument, but this War, understanding can not be allowed to affect swift justice, the Soldier needs a quick Trial, to be found sane and face the death penalty, this just might prevent further deaths of NATO forces in Afghanistan. This might sound harsh folks, but it’s the truth.
