Egypt and Middle East Peace

Telegraph: Reports on the statement by the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague that the peace process in the Middle East could be a victim of the recent revolt in Egypt. Also the Foreign Secretary was critical of the defensive reaction by Israel to the revolt in Egypt. This is not new folks, the Foreign Office is over the top pro Arab, while the 10 Downing Street and the rest of the Country tend to be pro Israel. These comments have no importance, due to the fact that they come from the FCO, the only game changer when it comes to the Middle East is the US. The Obama Administration is calling for fast reform but not calling for the head of President Mubarak, they fear from the Oval, to the State and Defence Departments is that a secular revolution in Egypt could bring in the Muslim Brotherhood, and from there you go from a secular revolution to a religious revolution, its always the second stage that is most worrying, from Russia in 1917 to Tehran in 1979. The economy of Egypt can not have these mass protests and go on, at some point the US will have to tell the protesters to go home and trust that the US will not allow the reforms to be undone. Otherwise by the time there is a new government there will be no money and this will be a great chance for Iran to use its oil influence to great effect. Thus POTUS will have to get off the fence and tell the protesters to go home.
