The New York Times: Reports on the growing tensions between Russia and the Ukraine, the NYT writes the following on Russian actions, " is engaging in an increasingly hostile standoff with another pro-Western neighbor, Ukraine. " The issue is the Crimean Peninsula and the Russian Naval Base on Ukraine soil, on this issue it can be argued that Russia should get the Crimean Peninsula back, its part of Russia proper, it only lost due to administrative change at the time of the USSR. The move of the Crimean Peninsula to the Ukraine was done under Khrushchev the leader of the USSR, and the NYT is right in stating the following, ".... decision had little significance because both were part of the Soviet Union. " The Obama Administration on this issue should try get a deal between Russia and the Ukraine for the return of the Crimea back to Russia. But President Obama should make clear that Russia can not do another Georgia, no invasions, President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton should make it clear to Russia that the West would support the Ukraine in any armed conflict between Russia and the Ukraine. Keep an eye on this story folks.
