If IS takes Kobane it will be seen as a victory for IS and its strategy, it will show the limits of air power without a buffer zone and a ground operation, the Turks have a point on the need for a buffer zone, it would allow many Syrians to go back and it would force the US to have active troops on the ground. Thus we have the famous mission creep, it is going to happen, it is just a matter of time. The Obama Oval and its political staff have to understand that the enemy is IS not their own military command, the Army has many good officers who still have the scars of Vietnam, they might have to be pushed in to placing troops in Syria, not the other way around. This is crunch time, the public will not support a WAR with no victory, they will need feel that the WAR is GOOD and has a objective aim and has the support of President Obama, is President Obama ALL IN is the question, one has doubts.
