These files should never be released, as if previous reporting, the Files contain allegations that Dr King had affairs, so did JFK, but Dr King was hero to African Americans and his fight for civil rights in 1964 and for voting rights in 1965.   These having nothing to do with his personal life.   The US needs its heroes, JFK's affairs did not help with his political reputation later, some heroes have to be protected, thus case with Dr King.   This is a diversion by the Trump Administration.

The result of the TRIAL can go three ways, Not Guilty, Guilty or the Jury cannot come to a decision, this blog will not cover the details of the charge, just the political results, as this is a NY Jury one has to assume they are Democrats or hate Trump, New York is a firm red state, the case should be heard somewhere else, but that did not happen.  Let's go for the most likely outcome, that is Guilty, the Republicans cannot have a Nominee who has been found Guilty of rape as their nominee, it would be a disaster for the Party, thus the Republicans have to find a new saviour, not as easy as it sounds, Trump has lowered the threshold of scandals, even found guilty one can expect that Trump will stay in the race, and his base will keep supporting him, he will claim that the Jury was biased.  The verdict is NOT GUILDTY, the Donald will be totally smug, and blast the liberal media for going with the story.  The end result would be that Trump would win the Republican nomination, in less he is charged with Federal Crimes due to his taxes and the sedation violence of January 6th.  The less likely option is that the the Jury cannot come a judgement, this Trump gets away with it again.  Interesting hours and days while the Jury makes its mind up.

The King should not be dragged in to this, it's a argument between the rest of the UK and Scotland, as to the move by UK Government this blog supports the move and would suggest 21 should be the minimum age before someone can change their gender in legal terms.   This blog was an idiot before it turned 21, it was simple and did not understand the real world, therefore 21 should be the starting age for such change.  The Scottish First Minister has lost the plot, she has started to believe her own spin, never a good by a politician and she wants to make Scotland Independent of the rest of the UK, this blog is not sure that she could win a referendum on the issue, is this a case of the left going well off the reservation and knowing that FACT.  Good move by the UK Government, so who holds the power, and it's not the Scottish Parliament when it comes to this issue.

It has been clear for months that Senators Manchin and Sinema would not vote to gut the filibuster rule in the US Senate, they have KEPT their word, it seems that the Democratic Senators cannot count or read, why bring something up if your going to LOSE, the easy answer is that the BASE of the Democratic Party wanted and the Majority Leader does not want to face a primary fight with AOC, the left wing firebrand.  The White House has spent weeks trying to convince these Senators and it failed, it didn't even try to get Republicans, Senator Romney stated that he had not gotten a call from the White House.  The Democrats were trying a power snatch, taking election from under the control of State and making them FEDERAL, at the end of the day it was crass politics, the US Senate deserves better than that from its majority.

It seems that the Senate Democrats cannot count, they do not have the votes to get rid of the filibuster or to make major changes to it, Manchin has spoken, it is not going to happen, the West Virginian Senator wants co-operation with the Republicans, the Senator is right to be concerned, the Democrats could be in the minority after the Mid Terms, who cuts off their own legs for just short term base gain.  The Democrats have to remember, BIDEN is no LBJ or Bill Clinton, he cannot get BBB over the line, Obama got ObamaCare through at the cost of losing the Congress, Biden poll numbers are in the toilet and going down the to sewers, he might not have to think about running in 2024, his polls could be so BAD that he withdraws fearing what a LOSS would be like to his legacy.  The Democrats should be looking at smaller packages that have the support of Manchin not looking to the base that is FAR LEFT and not in the middle of America. Politics is about counting after all.

Biden won the election fair and square but he has been drafted by the LEFT of his party to push for a constant Democratic victory.  The right to vote is not the question, its the manner of voting, and that is up to the States.

The BIG Democrats donners will not be happy, the Democrats banked in millions to take the Senate and keep the House in Democrat hands, if the Republicans can keep the Senate, its not over in till its over, then the Democrats and Republicans will have to work together or Biden will have a miserable in the Oval.   On the plus side, Biden is a creature of the Senate, thus one hopes he can make deals also ObamaCare could be thrown out by the US Supreme Court, that comes before the Court within a few days.   Also Trump is still President, one does wonder what he could get up to the next two and half months.  The first thing that Trump has to do is concede the election to Biden, POTUS should try to do with some grace, endless law suits is not the way, there is always 2024, American voters seem to nominate old men, so the Trump might try his luck in 2024.  Also 2nd terms can be fraught, Nixon being the classic example,  even the great Gipper had a problem with Iran - Contra, Clinton had his affair, while Obama had to deal with the War in Libya and the loss of US Ambassador.  If the POTUS wants to get some bonus points for 2024 he should concede the election and quickly, and help Biden out with a quiet transitional period.
