Read for Obama - Afghanistan ( Some Strong Language)

Esquire: Excellent Article on Afghanistan, to the point, don't listen to VP Biden, it has to be all in when it comes to Afghanistan. If President Obama has the time to read this article he should, he can take a break from writing his Nobel Speech for December, Afghanistan is his Vietnam, don't allow your Arrogance or the Nobel Committee to destroy US Foreign Policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Read of the Day.

The Truth about that AWARD - Nobel Peace Prize

Sometimes politicians do tell the truth, even if they miss the point, here are some of President Obama's comments on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, " I am both surprised and deeply humbled by the decision of the Nobel Committee. Let me be clear: I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of American leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations. To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace. " But after all that Obama took the prize, like one of those people that eats the last biscuit because they think they have the right. The Obama ego will be high now, thus expect disaster in Foreign Policy, he will think he understands Foreign Policy, he might even take the Biden advice on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Thus if this logic follows through he will throw the poor people of Afghanistan to the mercies of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, he will reduce troops in Afghanistan and use more drones in Pakistan, this could lead to the fall of the secular government of Pakistan and a nuclear armed Pakistan in the hands of the Taliban. It would be ironic if the decisions of the Nobel Committee leads to a major Nuclear war in the region, and that Obama sets the light to nuclear war between India and Pakistan and sends Afghanistan back to the stone age.

Afghanistna and the Fate of the Obama Presidency

This Week Magazine: Interesting article by Bob Shrum, a Democratic Strategist, Mr Shrum argues that Afghanistan could decide the fate of the Obama Administration, Mr Shrum writes the following, " Why...the disquiet among Obama supporters, among Democratic strategists, even among some inside the White House? There is a one-word answer: Afghanistan. " Mr Shrum in essence argues for withdrawal from Afghanistan, that if Obama takes the McChrystal increase or Biden decrease that Obama will lose in Afghanistan. It can be argued that the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama is even more of a problem, can he throw the people of Afghanistan to the Taliban, the Nobel Prize Winner, think about that, the Taliban in control of Afghanistan, the destruction of Western values, women as goods of their husbands or fathers and all down to Obama. Also if he sends another surge to Afghanistan what does that say about winning a PEACE prize, yes tricky. In an ironic way Afghanistan might have made Obama the next LBJ before he was even elected in 2008. As with LBJ in 1968, Obama might find that he is forced out of Office in 2012, LBJ was taken down by Vietnam, the Obama star might be taken down by Afghanistan.

Liberals FUME at Obama Award

The Daily Beast: Even the Liberal Peter Beinart thinks the Nobel award to President Obama is a bad idea, Mr Beinart writes the following, " I like Barack Obama as much as the next liberal, but this is a farce. He’s done nothing to deserve the prize. " This blog on the whole is not a Liberal Blog, but it does endorse the above, if the President has come out and said thank you but then declined the award I would have more respect for President Obama, but again its about him, the ONE, the Star, sometimes the best thing is not winning, that's the part Obama of late has not has to deal with, those on the list had more need of the award, Obama again has shown why no drama Obama has no class, sad in many respects.

Obama WINS the Nobel Peace Prize

The New York Times: Reports on the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, the NYT sees the downside to such an award, the NYT writes the following, " ....the award could, in a strange way, prove a political liability......" in essence the you could have a Thatcher/Gorbachev effect, Obama is now down in the polls at home but is loved abroad with the exception of the Olympic Committee. One only has to look at the cases of Lady Thatcher and former USSR President Gorbachev, it should be noted that Gorbachev also won a Nobel Peace Prize but was still thrown out of Office in 1991. These two great leaders from the 80's got more respect abroad than at home, in Russia Gorbachev is as popular as the local tax man who raised your taxes. But it is interesting to see what the Nobel Committee has stated about the award of the prize to President Obama, " The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons. Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened. Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population. For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges. " If Obama had removed nuclear weapons from the face of the earth then the Nobel Committee would have a point, but according to most news reports the choice of Obama started before he was elected President, thus his selection happened within a few days or weeks of him becoming POTUS. This is not good for the Nobel Committee, it is fast becoming an arm of the Democratic Party in the United States. It can be argued that former Vice President Al Gore and President Jimmy Carter had earned their Nobel awards, this award is about style over substance,

Death in Afghanistan

MOD: Reports that another soldier has died in Afghanistan, the soldier was from the " 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards " As of 2001 the UK has lost 221 of its Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan. In that total there have been 190 combat deaths and 31 due to illness, accidents or other incidents. It looks like President Obama will not grant the forty thousand troops as requested by his chosen Commander on the ground, General McChrystal, thus the UK should start to withdraw our troops, why should the UK lose brave soldiers due to ego of President Obama.
