Guardian - Live Blog: Reports in its 2.35pm post the following on the attempt to narrow the Senate's filibuster rules, " That measure was defeated in a vote of 48 to 52, with Democrats Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema joining their Republican colleagues in opposing the proposal. "
Lets Get Real:
It has been clear for months that Senators Manchin and Sinema would not vote to gut the filibuster rule in the US Senate, they have KEPT their word, it seems that the Democratic Senators cannot count or read, why bring something up if your going to LOSE, the easy answer is that the BASE of the Democratic Party wanted and the Majority Leader does not want to face a primary fight with AOC, the left wing firebrand. The White House has spent weeks trying to convince these Senators and it failed, it didn't even try to get Republicans, Senator Romney stated that he had not gotten a call from the White House. The Democrats were trying a power snatch, taking election from under the control of State and making them FEDERAL, at the end of the day it was crass politics, the US Senate deserves better than that from its majority.
