WE have the Votes - Health Care Reform

The Hill: Reports that the Democratic House leadership think they have the votes to pass health care reform. If the House leadership is right it will be interesting to see Congressmen/women commit political suicide for a Bill that could be repealed once the Republicans are in charge. Of course these confident statements by the leadership could be spin, lets see how out of touch the Democratic Representatives are with their districts. Fun times ahead folks for Democrats as they lose the House and Obama make himself a one term President. As Ambassador Kennedy would have said, no one likes a loser, and there will be lot of Democratic losers in 2010.

Rove on Bush 43 and Iraq

The New York Times: Reports on view of Karl Rove the architect of the Bush 43 wins in 2000 and 2004 that Bush 43 might not have gone to War in Iraq if he had known the truth about the lack of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. The most powerful word in the English language is IF, but we have to live in the world as it is, the UK lost 179 of its Armed Forces Personnel in Iraq, and at the end of the day was run out of Iraq. To be quite frank I have no time for second guesses or counter factual history, Iraq on the whole after a lot of blood is better off, lets hope they choose to follow the route of peace, its their country to misquote JFK about Vietnam. Also lets hope the Obama Administration does not turn a success in to a failure by leaving to fast, the USA should be in Iraq well past 2011.

Obama on Health Care Reform

The President will state the following on his health care reform:

A) “I don’t believe we should give government bureaucrats or insurance company bureaucrats more control over health care in America. I believe it’s time to give the American people more control over their own health insurance. I don’t believe we can afford to leave life-and-death decisions about health care to the discretion of insurance company executives alone. I believe that doctors and nurses like the ones in this room should be free to decide what’s best for their patients. " The first line is being economical with the truth, the health care bill gives vast power to the Washington D.C. The problem with a Government Department is that it always wants more money, and there will be demands for more funding, health costs never gone down. At present the US voter does control their health care, after the Bill is forced through the US Government will have the power to pull the plug on aged parents by not funding their care. The US Government will tell Doctors what the Government will pay for, as the Government will be the major force in the system the funding for new projects will come down to what is decided in D.C.

B)" The proposal I’ve put forward gives Americans more control over their health care by holding insurance companies more accountable. It builds on the current system where most Americans get their health insurance from their employer. If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Because I can tell you that as the father of two young girls, I wouldn’t want any plan that interferes with the relationship between a family and their doctor.”
If you add an extra thirty million people the costs will go up, if Obama really believes the above rubbish he his being dishonest with the American voter, but more of a problem is his not being honest with himself, the arrogance before the fall.

C) “So this is our proposal. This is where we’ve ended up. It’s an approach that has been debated and changed and I believe improved over the last year. It incorporates the best ideas from Democrats and Republicans – including some of the ideas that Republicans offered during the health care summit, like funding state grants on medical malpractice reform and curbing waste, fraud, and abuse in the health care system. My proposal also gets rid of many of the provisions that had no place in health care reform – provisions that were more about winning individual votes in Congress than improving health care for all Americans.”
Thus a few shallow bones to Republicans, its all spin folks, the problem for a Obama is that he really believes its the process, he cant take the fact that it is the policy, he cant face the fact that he is throwing the Democratic Party and his Presidency under the bus because he does not have the guts to ditch his left wing agenda, that why Obama will be a failed Presidency, what the Gods make the Gods also gave hubris.

D) “At stake right now is not just our ability to solve this problem, but our ability to solve any problem. The American people want to know if it’s still possible for Washington to look out for their interests and their future. They are waiting for us to act. They are waiting for us to lead. And as long as I hold this office, I intend to provide that leadership. I don’t know how this plays politically, but I know it’s right. And so I ask Congress to finish its work, and I look forward to signing this reform into law.”
POTUS does not even have the guts to use the R word. It sad seeing a one term President in the making, lets see how Obama likes it when the Republicans control Congress and block his entire Agenda. Lets be clear if the economy was in a good shape and the jobless rate was down to 1990s levels then one could support the Obama health care bill, but he wants to spend a TRILLION dollars during a recession not on jobs but health care reform. This shows the political bankruptcy of Liberals, they don't have an Agenda for job growth thus they pander to their base, the cost will be that the USA joins the ranks for Rome, the British Empire, former might powers no longer leaders but followers of new powers, it will be China later on in the 21 Century.

Reconciliation Day - Health Care Reform

Fox News: Reports that President Obama will declare today that he will use the nuclear option of 51 votes in the US Senate to get health care reform through the Congress. The President will throw some bones to the Republicans, but they are shallow and show the arrogance of power by Obama. The Republicans should make it clear to Obama that after this decision he will need 60 votes for every aspect of his legislation, even to open a window. Its time for Chicago hard ball, well no time to be nice to the White House, make it slow and painful for the Democrats, play for time, stress out the process, let health care be the only thing on the table, make the Democrats suffer, block all their plans, make Obama see the cost of arrogance.
