Obama and the Pill Part Three

Guardian: Reports the following on the Obama U - turn on the pill “ ( the )..compromise also risks alienating Democratic women who regard payment for contraception as an important right. It should be noted that woman Democratic Senators have come out in support of the original rule, they have been left high and dry, they will NOW have to march back their comments to be in line with the Oval Office. The left is US politics should go after President Obama on this issue and get him to do a U - turn, this shows that Obama takes women for granted, well he is a Chicago politician.

Obama and the Pill Part Two

Telegraph: Reports the following on the redrawn ObamaCare and the Pill, “ Obama has retreated from a new culture war with America's Christian Right…”. The point of the Presidency is to lead, to make the argument from the Oval Office, not to cave after less than a week of pressure, the internal White House polls must show that this issue was hurting the re-elect campaign, what should worry the Oval is what will be next, what else in ObamaCare will come back to bite Obama in the backside, this blog has no time for ObamaCare but if your going to do something then defend it, not surrender at the first sign of trouble.

Obama and the Pill

BBC News: Reports that the Obama Administration has changed its health rule that religious linked Institutions should pay for woman to have the birth control pill. This shows how weak President Obama is, he has caved, women should be covered by default, they should not have to asked, this is the 21 Century, President Obama should have gone to the mat on this, taken up the fight. The access to contraception and abortion should be legal right without question or obstacles placed in front of women. Shame on President Obama for allowing politics to cloud his judgement.

Greek General Strike

Daily Mail: Reports on the two day General Strike in Greece in reaction to the new Greek Austerity Plan. The Unions should not go back to work folks, they should convince their members to stay out in till Greece leaves the Euro, even the new tough Austerity plan is not seen as enough by the EU. As noted a few days ago the Germans and France are considering the idea that Greece places its revenue in a special account to pay off its debts, this would be a national humiliation for Athens, in essence Greece would not have control of its money supply, also the EU wanted to place a EU official to have the final say over Greek spending and taxes, this would make Greece a colony of the EU, what would the classic Greeks have made of such a humiliation.

Arresting the Troika ? = Greece

Guardian Live - Euro: Reports that the largest Police Union in Greece has threatened to arrest members of the Troika. One has to ask is the social fabric of Greece coming apart, of course idea arresting the Troika might sound like a fun idea, but they should have decent lawyers to get out, what ever one’s thoughts about that, but this does send a message, if the Police don’t stop the violent protests who will, cant see Greek MP's fighting the protesters. It would be the most day’s work they have done in some time.

The Greek Right and the Eurozone Crisis

Telegraph Live - Euro: Reports that George Karatzaferis the leader of the far right Party in the Greek Parliament has stated he can not support the austerity package. In other words he can see a chance to gain in the forthcoming Greek Elections, any Political Party or Leader that supports the Austerity package could see its political ambitions demise. Thus in pure political terms it would be wise for the political leaders to tell the EU to watch the violent protests in Athens, by austerity the EU could be forcing Greece in to a military coup, or worse get Greece to elect the very far right, lets recall Germany in the 1930s. The Greek Elite have to make a choice, Greece or the EU, its one or the other folks.

Greek Riots and the Eurozone Crisis

BBC News: Reports on violent protest on the streets of Athens, Greece after the Greek Government agreed a new austerity package, that was considered not enough by the EU. Thus folks it comes down to a simple fact, the EU does not trust the Greek Government to follow through, the EU is demanding a further 325 million Euros be cut from Greek spending, also that all Greek political parties almost sign a blood oath to follow through with the austerity. Lets get real here folks, the EU wants Greece to walk out, even the present bailout is not considered enough, the Greek economy has retracted more that when the Greek deal was done in October of 2011, thus Greece needs a bigger bailout, who is going to pay, the Germans stated last night that Greece has not meet the requirements of the deal, thus more demands. The Greeks need to do itself and the EU a favour and default, that would allow for fresh talks, and restart, otherwise the Greek crisis will go on like a bad soap opera.
