Obama on Terror

RCP Blog: Reports that Obama has thrown his lot in with the Liberal Judges on the US Supreme Court. This is another rookie mistake by Obama, if he is seen as weak and liberal its over, McCain should make him pay for this mistake, McCain a War Hero who was a Prisoner of War and was tortured has a right to have a view on this matter, Obama needs the Reagan Democrats who are white, working class and conservative. Obama is heading in to Walter Mondale defeat. McCain should cut a political ad that makes the point that he has the experience on National Security while Obama has the words but lacks the back bone to be tough when dealing with the enemies of the United States of America.

Deaths in Afghanistan

BBC News: Two more Soldiers dead in Afghanistan. The death toll now stands at 102. Why are the rest of NATO not doing more, and how long do we have to do the fighting and bleeding because of the of the lack of a back bone by our Allies.

Liberal NYT and Terror

New York Times: Reports on the decision by the US Supreme Court. The Liberal New York Times is over the moon, if people die because of a stupid mistake by the Court will the NYT care, have my doubts on that subject.

Rights

BBC News: Reports on the decision by the US Supreme Court to give terrorists the same rights as if they had been picked up outside the White House and not on the battlefield. The question what should the Bush Administration do with opinion from the Court, one answer nothing, throw it in the bin, the theory of law is okay, but should those now held in Guantanamo Bay get out and start to kill people again, the voters wont care what the US Supreme Court think, they will take it out on the political leadership, thus Bush should say " Stuff them " the terrorists are staying in Cuba till they die of old age or a firing squad. If the Liberal Democratic Congress and Obama really want to be on the same page as the terrorists let them, call their bluff, they can always impeach a President. The Leadership of Congress in Liberal but not stupid, they and Obama can not afford to be seen as the defenders of terrorists who who would kill more thousands even hundred of thousand if they had a chance, the rule of law is important, its not a suicide note for those that don't live in the real world.

The 42 Vote

BBC News: Reports on the Resignation of David Davis, the Shadow Home Secretary. Mr Davis has resigned as a MP as to fight a By- Election on the Issue of the 42 day period of holding a suspect without charge. A politician to stand on a morale issue, bit of shock, hope he wins, might not agree with Mr Davis but have to respect his stand, also one can see his argument, just don't agree with his opinion.

More on Johnson

New York Times: Has a detailed article on the background to the resignation of Mr Johnson. The analyses points out a very important fact, Obama has a problem, he won the nomination based on change but those that work the system, have links in all areas of the Beltway. In other words to run in the General Election Obama is going to need those that know how how the system works, its better to win with help form the old professionals around the D.C than lose but keep your hands clean. Politics is ruthless and harsh, and you need the best professionals to win, Obama kept Reverend Wright longer than Mr Johnson. The quick fix of a removal does show some weakness on the part of Obama.

Obama, VP, and the Real World!

Bloomberg.com: Reports on the first rookie mistake by Senator Obama, James Johnson 0n his panel to find a VP has been forced to resign, as it was perceived that his presence hurt Obama due to past business dealings. Obama should look to the future, not to past leaders of the Democratic Party, change was theme of his winning run, well its about change Senator, or was it just words.

War with Iran ?

BBC News: Reports that President Bush has made it clear that the military option is in play should Iran not stop it Nuclear Policy. The only option for Iran is military, we have the played the Diplomatic game, Iran wants to play the clock, it hopes it will get a better deal from the next American President. The Government in Iran is forgetting one thing, Bush 43 has nothing to lose, he has reached the level of Richard Nixon after Watergate when it comes to popularity. If one thinks that President Truman was not very popular when leaving office, but looks great now, he was willing to do what had to be done, in other words, he dropped the Bombs on Japan. The war had to end with the least loss of American Armed personnel. Bush 43 should give a warning to Iran, twenty four hours to release all its nuclear information, to have UN inspectors in Iran to check all areas of concern, they should be backed up with military force. If the government in Iran says No, then the USA has to hit Iran hard, heavy bombing of its nuclear buildings and also its security and economic structure. The bombing should also be based on the general stated view that should Iran attack Iraq the USA would use all weapons to end the war. Its coming folks, the conflict one way or another, the security of the West is at stake at the present time.
