The Truth about New Labour - Campbell

Guardian: Has extracts from the non redacted diaries of the Master of Spin himself, Alastair Campbell. This blog didn't buy the redacted diaries of Mr Campbell, but now that Labour is out of power the full diaries are out, this blog has already made his order for the new diaries, the extracts are great, we see the birth of New Labour, but also the political cancer that was at its core, the fraught relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, this blogger is looking forward to to reading the full diaries, will give full review at the end. Read of the Day.

Campbell on the PM and Laws

Alastair Campbell Blog: Th Labour Master of Spin and of Iraq infamy states his view on what PM Cameron should do about David Laws " My hunch is that the ruthless streak will prevail, and that he won't mind too much,.........if people see that ruthless streak and he can present himself as a strong and decisive leader. ". I have my political problems with Mr Campbell but he is right about the politics when it comes the Laws case, this would be a good example for PM Cameron to show that its new politics, no spinning to protect Mr Laws, noticed so far no Conservative Ministers or MP's out there protecting Mr Laws, lets see if Mr Laws is still in his job by the next Tuesday, politics is a brutal game, Mr Laws should go, to help the Coalition and himself, if he goes he can come back, if he is forced to resign there might not be a come back to the Front Row of politics.

The " Gay " Lover and the Minister

Telegraph: Reports that the Chief Secretary to the Treasury David Laws paid his gay lover forty thousand pounds over eight years to rent a rooms from him, this could be against the MP's expenses rules, Mr Laws has said sorry and will pay the money back to the Tax payer. The relationship issue is not important to this blog, the issue would be troubling if the partner was male or female, it smells wrong and shows very bad judgement by Mr Laws. This blog in a subjective manner supports the Coalition Government but in a objective manner this blog is calling for the resignation of Mr Laws, expenses scandal was supposed to end with the defeat of the Labour Party the Coalition Government has to show that its about new politics, the Lib Dems don't do themselves any favours by coming to the defence of Mr Laws, when they start to parse the English Language as to whom is a Partner they sound like Bill Clinton. Mr Cameron has to tell Mr Clegg that he has to fire or make Mr Laws go, the Lib Dems are part of the Government, they have to be ruthless, Mr Laws has to go, he can come back later on but its over for Mr Laws at the present.
