BBC v President George W. Bush

BBC News: A very fair and accurate look at the legacy of President George W. Bush. Read of the Day.

Obama and the Slum LandLord

The Times: Article on contributions to the Obama Campaign that the Campaign has had give to charity. This goes back to the Clinton attack in the S.C Debate. The Clinton's looks for a weakness and play dirty.

Romney Factor

New York Times: Interesting article that looks at the relationship between Romney and the other Republican candidates, its the NYT thus a negative view of that relationship, the article states the following reasons for the dim of view of Romney, " attacks on opponents in television commercials, the perception of him as an ideological panderer and resentment about his seemingly unlimited resources as others have struggle to raise cash. " The last reason is the most important, Romney has the money, the rest don't, this could be the reason Romney became the nominee of the Republican Party. The vast money chest of Romney allows him to run ads in the states he needs to win on Super Tuesday. The rest of the candidates are not so lucky they need to win states to go on, thus Florida is make or break for Giuliani. The race could go down to the following match up, Romney v McCain or McCain v Giuliani. Huckabee it can be argued is a Southern Christian Candidate without much support in the secular states.

The Nation and Bill Clinton

The Nation: Never and I mean never thought I would say this about an article in the bible for Liberals ( if they believed in Religion ) the Nation. A correct article and to the point. The article is having a go at Bill Clinton , LIBERALS HAVE SMELLED THE COFFEE, PITY IT TAKEN THEM THIS LONG.

Politics and the Gipper

The Australian: Looks at the political problem that Obama got by his use of Ronald Reagan as an example of Presidential Leadership. On the one hand, reach beyond the Democratic base, good in a General Election context, bad as the Democratic base is very Liberal and out of touch. It has been noted in recent articles that while Reagan created Reagan Democrats, Obama wants to create Obama Republicans. The article states the following, " so the next agent of change a liberal version of Reagan. " The problem that Obama faces is that Bill Clinton who wanted to move the Democratic Party to the centre has to pander to the Liberal base to get his wife nominated as the Democratic Nominee. An ironic twist, the agent of change in 1992 is know the upholder of the establishment. As the establishment Democratic Party protected him in 1998 over Impeachment, Clinton has a debt to pay at the expense of the future of the Democratic Party.
