Listen to the NYT - Health Care Reform

The New York Times: Reports on the problems that the liberal House leadership will have in getting Health Care Reform through the House of Representatives, the NYT states the following on the voting blocks that are needed, " abortion opponents and fiscal conservatives....." As the article notes it comes down to basic politics, the article states the following, " politicians do not want to be martyrs. They want to hold onto their seats. ". Thus as noted many times in this blog it comes down to the simple fact, do Blue Dog Democrats want to be re-elected back to their seats in Washington D.C. It seems that President Obama is willing to throw the Democratic Party under the bus for his obsession. This is when political reality meets rhetoric, lets see what the Blue Dogs do, political life or cold lonely defeat while Obama flies above them on Air Force One.

One Term Obama ?

The Sunday Times: Reports how President Obama's obsessive search for health care reform could make him a one term President. As noted on this blog many times President Obama will either not run in 2012 or will face a massive defeat due to his failure to understand the American voter, they voter wants jobs not some far left liberal agenda, thus if President Obama wants to be a one term bad President let him take that route, but Blue Dog democrats in the House should tell the Oval to get lost, Obama has three years to come back, if the House approves the Senate bill they will have six months before the Mid Term Elections, with having to defend tax hikes and forcing Americans to buy insurance, good luck with that defence Blue Dog Democrat.

Tony Blair and Iraq

Guardian: Reports how the then UK PM Tony Blair came close to throwing in the towel in the first few months after the Iraq War. In the end Tony Blair came through his black dog days as Winston Churchill once called his dark mood days, the real negative of the Iraq War for Tony Blair is not the War itself; this blogger supporter the War; its what came afterwards, the collapse of civic order in Iraq and the resulting deaths, it took in till 2007 to get Iraq back on its feet, its those deaths that are on the hands of Tony Blair and Bush 43. Even Bush 43 saw the light and placed a massive surge in Iraq, this turned the nightmare of Iraq around but by then Tony Blair was out, to be replaced by Gordon Brown. Thus Tony Blair will be judged by history on his action in Iraq and his allowing Gordon Brown to be his successor, this makes Eden look good after Suez.
