Obama and Afghanistan

The New York Times: Reports that the Obama Administration is having a problem in defining success in Afghanistan, the NYT writes the following, " the Obama administration is struggling to come up with a long-promised plan to measure whether the war is being won. " The problem is that you cant win in Afghanistan, the West will be lucky to leave Afghanistan at the same state just after the Taliban was overthrown. Afghanistan is a political nightmare, the Obama charm wont work, when the Afghan people are not fighting some invading force they are fighting in each other, its only a common enemy that brings them together as a people and a force. The Presidential Election at the end of August in a fix, the Western supported choice will win, the Obama White House does not have a choice, they have their own Diem of Vietnam. The War Lords can be bought, its a custom, the fighters will change sides at the drop of a hat for the right money, but its a long term deal. The problem is that President Obama does not have all the time in the World, Liberal Democrats in Congress feel about Afghanistan as they felt about Iraq. Obama's polls have been going down, his fight for health care reform could have a damaging effect on his ability to get support for his Afghanistan Policy, thus health care and Afghanistan might just define the Obama Presidency, thus my prediction that Obama will lose re-election in 2012.

Twitter IS STILL NOT WORKING!

BBC News: Reports that Twitter is back online. Have tried but still problems, one has to think could this be Iran attacking Twitter, what is the Government of Iran up to in Tehran? Now Working after being all out day! Odd how ones misses it after just a few hours!!

The WP, Obama vs North Korea

The Washington Post: It seems that the elite press are not going to be suckers for North Korea again, the respected Washington Post also stresses the need for caution when it comes to the Obama Policy towards North Korea, the WP states the following, " Mr. Obama is right not to repurchase concessions that North Korea has sold before. " It seems that the elite media from the Washington Post to the extreme Liberal New York Times sees North Korea Government for what it is, an actor you cant trust, Bill Clinton was burnt by North Korea in the mid 1990's. They promised Jimmy Carter they would stop their nuclear ambitions, what happened they broke their word the very next day, thus the present problems with the UN and the Obama Administration. Lets hope Obama did not agree that for the trade of the reporters that UN sanctions would be removed or that it was okay for North Korea to be a threat to the region. Lets see the details Mr President.

Obama and North Korea

The New York Times: A surprising tough editorial from the Liberal New York Times when it comes to President Obama and the Stalinist North Korea, the NYT states the following on North Korea and President Obama, " while he must pursue this opening, he must not be so desperate for a deal that he lets North Korea set all the terms..." It can be argued that even the most extreme Liberal Paper the USA gets the fact that North Korea can not be trusted, and that Obama can not afford in pure political terms to be seen as another Jimmy Carter or Neville Chamberlain. On the other hand North Korea is a armed nuclear power, the Obama Administration has to do a deal with them, if not we could see them selling their nuclear info to Iran, even more problems. Thus in the three hour of talks between Bill Clinton and the Government of North Korea lets hope the issue of the nuclear ambitions of North Korea came up over tea or coffee, three hours is a long time in the dire North Korea. The tough question is what will the price that Obama has to pay to put North Korea back in its box, and more important can he sell it to the regional powers in Asia and sell it back in the USA. Obama can not afford to see his polls go down any more, any more and Congress will not be afraid of him and thus he will lose health care reform.

The Guardian vs Murdoch

Guardian: Reports on the decision by Mr Murdoch to charge to read his news contest on the Web. As pointed out in my own post, most good bloggers always link back to the original source but they are not going to pay for creating more money for Mr Murdoch. If you blog as an example on Afghanistan, the Times as the paper of record in the UK is an excellent source, thus your own slant might be different from the source material but you always link back, thus the source in this case the Times gets to sell its add space and make more money that most bloggers ever see or want, its just citizen journalism not for profit. If you Mr Murdoch starts to charge then sorry this blogger will not use that a guide for news, thus Mr Murdoch will lose links back to his web pages and thus his add revenue will go down. I would rather pay the New York Times and as readers of this blog might guess I have a low view of the Liberal NYT. At least they have a fair policy when it comes to blogging. If Mr Murdoch want lose his power within the political system then he should start to charge, I guess I will start to link to sources to want their articles to be linked to from the blogs.

1960 Chicago = 2009 Afghanistan

The Times: Reports that people that don't exist have been added to the voting rolls for the Presidential Election at the end of August in Afghanistan. This recalls the 1960 fraudulent election in Chicago that saw the perceived election of President John F. Kennedy. They had people voting who had fought in the American War of Independence, fraud in other words. How ironic that once we get a Chicago Politician in the White House we get a fraudulent election in Afghanistan, the Olympic Gods must be smiling. Thus if as expected the Western supported President Karzai wins the Obama Administration will have to support a dubious elected President, why does that ring a bell? Of course if we have a dubious election win what can we say to Government of Iran who also rigged the election in their favour. Thus President Obama might look a hypocrite if he supports Karzai but wont talk to Iran because it had a rigged election. The original Mayor Daley from 1960 fraudulent election has a lot answer for, he could in way really mess up USA Foreign Policy with a country, Iran that is its way to the nuclear club.

The End of Blogging ?

BBC News: Reports that Rupert Murdoch is going to start to charge people to read news content on his different Papers and Cable News on the Web. This could be end of modern blogging, blogging brings you the news but with a bloggers own slant on the news, thus you get the news and a review as on this blog. It can be argued Mr Murdoch is making a mistake, all good bloggers have a link back to the source of the news, thus the source can get traffic from a blog. If your going to charge to read articles and thus make a link this will cut the normal joe who bloggs on his favourite subject. If your Middle Class or a rich blogger you can afford the cost or you make a deal with Mr Murdoch to get lower costs. Folks it does not matter if your left or right this is another fight we who blog have to fight, this is a fight for the ordinary blogger, you might have to start blogging on train time tables. A call to blogging arms here folks, let Mr Murdoch know we oppose this on a access level also its bad business, lets start the fight folks.
