Waterboarding

CNN: Reports that the AG won’t investigate the use of Waterboarding, good for him, we live in a dark and dangerous world. Democracy is the beacon on the hill of freedom, sometimes the agents of freedom have to get their hands dirty so the rest of us can be normal and have a non-threatened existence from terrorists who want to destroy the West.

Obama and Hard Politics

Fox News: Reports that Obama has suggested that the Senator Hillary Clinton release her tax returns as he has during the Campaign. Very smart and tough politics, get it out there and force the press to dig for dirty on the Clinton Money. Very impressed he wants to be President.

Fox News: Reports on the idea that the Democrats might not have nominee till the Convention. West Wing Season 6. Go Obama.

Bush and the Future ?

New York Times: Bush looks to the future, he is in the same position that President Ronald Reagan was in 1988; he sees this election as much about the future as his Presidency. Reagan was seen as a successful because his Vice – President won the election in 88, it was seen by some as Reagan’s third term. Al Gore did not win in 2000 thus we have Hillary Clinton running now; this in many respects is an election about Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. They both want to be seen as Ronald Reagan!

The VP for McCain

Weekly Standard: A look at those that could be VP for McCain. I think McCain needs a big name, if Clinton wins the Democratic Nomination and that’s a big if, she might pick Obama, therefore McCain needs someone to match Obama, in my view a man that should have been President is Former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell. He has the statue to match Obama, he has served as National Security Advisor to Ronald Reagan, can you see him saying, “ I worked for Ronald Reagan your no Ronald Reagan. “ As National Security Adviser and Secretary of State he was seen as moderate, thus he would appeal to different groups. Thus in Blogger Space lets get Powell on the ticket. Must article of the Day.

The Democratic Race and the Future ?

SFGate: Looks at the prospects that the Democratic Party will not have a nominee by the Convention and the effect of the Super Delegates on the process. Super Delegates are the political establishment of the Democratic Party, elected officials and former Presidents. Yes if Hillary Clinton was to win by one vote, her husband would hand her the Democratic Nomination. Makes 2000 look very Democratic.

Delegate Update - Dems

RCP: Reports that Hillary Clinton is 70 delegates ahead of Senator Obama. In the final total after Super Tuesday, Clinton 1076, Obama 1006 delegates. This could be a very long race. Who has the money could be the define the winner, but lets recall Romney had the money and lost the Republican race for President.
