The New York Times: Reports Speaker Boehner, the Republican leader of the House has released a letter from leading economists stating that any debt ceiling raise has to be matched by higher cuts from the Administration. The NO vote in the House yesterday for a raise in the debt ceiling without any cuts shows that on this issue it’s the Republicans that just might have the upper hand, POTUS needs the ceiling raised or the US cant borrow any more, any spending would require cuts, thus Obama will have to find cuts that keep Republicans happy but without making his liberal base gone through the roof, interesting challenge for a Nobel Prize Winner, oh yes he didn’t win it for economics did he, what did he WIN for by the way!

KSM charged with 9/11 Attacks
Telegraph: Reports that KSM and four others have been charged by the Military Commission at Guantánamo Bay with 9/11 terrorism attacks on the US. This has been a long time coming folks, the process started under Bush 41 but the new Obama Administration wanted to go down the Federal Court route, this faced great political opposition from the US Congress, the Obama Administration had to back down, it’s a re-election next year for President Obama, he could not afford to annoy New York City or State, the naivety of the Oval has caused great distress to the 9/11 families, lets hope the Military Cases are fast and a quick guilty verdict, then death to the planer of 9/11.
No Debt Ceiling Raise = Obama vs. House
USHofR: The US House of Representatives by a vote of 318 to 97 has rejected President Obama’s request to raise the US debt ceiling. It should be noted that eighty two Democrats supported the Republicans in rejecting the request from the Oval. At the end of the day the debt ceiling will have to go up, but before that the House should make the Oval come forward with real cuts to the US Budget. The important point is that these cuts have to be real cuts, not symbolic cuts or cuts for the budget next year, the pain has to start NOW, welfare has to be cut, the Republicans should attempt to block ObamaCare, or at least stall its process. The Oval and House have to look at the future, the US can not just raise its debt ceiling with no end in sight, at present the US is fourteen trillion in debt, it has to be cut, it will be painful, but better the pain NOW, than the US turns in to Greece or Ireland.
