Fox News: Reports that the Taliban are ready to attack in the South of Afghanistan. As Iraq has cooled down Afghanistan is becoming hotter, the Taliban can read the news, they are not thick, they see the Presidential Race in in the USA. In their view, not based on reality, they are looking back to Vietnam, and the political success of the Tet Offensive that destroyed the illusion that the USA was winning in Vietnam. Although in military terms the Vietcong failed during Tet they won a major political victory. Thus we have a Presidential Election, and the Taliban don't want a McCain Presidency, in their view not based on reality they think Obama would be weaker, he has not helped himself by stating that he would talk to Iran without conditions, they Taliban could be asking why Obama would not talk them, from their view its a fair question. Expect Afghanistan to get a lot hotter for both the USA and the UK.
A look at the Politics of the United States and the UK. The Foreign Policies of both countries and how they behave in the International Community.

The Polls for the 08 Race
The polls for the Presidential Race shows a even race, Obama is ahead but not enough to place a bet. The RCP average of the Polls is Obama leading by 4.4%%, Obama 46.2%, McCain 41.8. The new polls show Obama leading by 4%. Gallup Tracking has the race as follows, Obama 46%, McCain 42%. and Rasmussen has Obama leding by 48% to 44% for McCain. As noted during a close race, Obama polls better than the acutal result, these 4% margin seems to VIEWS to really show the race as even when it comes to the popular vote, thus it could come down to the Electoral College. The margin of 4% is shown a Cook/RT Strategies poll, in this poll Obama 44%, McCain 40%. It seems Obama cant break the 50% mark, it will be interesting to see these polls after the convention to see if Obama can break the 50 mark in national polls. The one new poll seem to follow last weeks trend, a poll for the ABC News/WP shows Obama ahead by 6%. In this poll Obama is close to the 50 mark, Obama 48%, McCain 42%. It should be noted that Senator McCain seem to have a problem in getting over the 45% mark. Thus this is very close in the early weeks.
