The Labour Party Split over AV in 2011
Telegraph: Reports that 114 Labour MPs will oppose the move to AV in the 2011 AV referendum vote. It will be interesting folks, you will have a majority if near all Conservatives in opposition to AV, the Labour Party is split, the only people supporting AV will be the Liberal Democrats, Ed Miliband the new Labour Leader and a few Labour MPs and the left wing media, its to early to predict but its going to be hard to get a YES vote folks.
Beefing up the Coalition Government
BBC News: Reports that the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats Mr Simon Hughes has been appointed by the UK Coalition Government to spearhead the word that poorer students should go to University and the safe guards in the new tuition fees structure. This is a good PR move by the Coalition Government, the left wing media has not stressed that Graduates will start paying back their tuition fees at a higher level that under Labour and those on the present Labour scheme will be better off. All the fuss seems to have gone away since the riots in London, one can argue that once the Royal Car was hit the students lost the morale high ground. Also students are a lazy lot, its cold out there folks, Christmas, etc, they don’t want to miss the bar opening times at their Universities. This is not the student riots of 1968 folks.
