Secretary Kerry and Syria - Syrian Crisis Update

Telegraph: Reports on comments made by the new US Secretary of State, John Kerry,  while on on his first trip to London as US Secretary of State, Mr Kerry stated the following on Syria, " ..sought to heal a rift with Syria's opposition on Monday, promising not to leave them "dangling in the wind" as they struggle against President Bashar al-Assad. ".

Lets Get Real:

In other words folks the Oval after rejecting the advice of State, Defence and the CIA will arm the Syrian rebels,  the sole reason that the Oval did not arm the rebels in the firs term was the worry that it would cause problems for the Oval with his liberal base, they do not matter now, what worries the Oval is how History will deal with Obama's record when it comes to foreign policy.    On the plus side the Oval has finished the US presence in Iraq, also lead from behind to bring down Gaddafi of Libya.   Its the negatives that are the problem, the lack of a US presence in Iraq has allowed an increase in violence, while Iran is closer to the bomb, the US threw its ally Hosni Mubarak under the bus, thus allowing for a Muslim Brotherhood Government in Egypt,  the relationship between the Oval and Israel is at frozen as you can get for an ally.   In Syria Al Qaeda is supporting the Syria rebels, while the West is seen as being slow and not helping with rebels.  In  Afghanistan the Oval is worried that once the US leaves the terrorists will come back and the nuclear armed secular Government of Pakistan could come under threat.     Then there is North Korea, it is developing its ICBM and nuclear technology, a threat to the region and a supplier to Iran.   Thus folks, Syria, Iran or North Korea could sink a 2nd Obama term, just ask Carter how foreign policy can destroy your Presidency.

The Joke that is Italian Politics - Italian General Election

Lets Get Real:

Thus Mr Berlusconi has bounced back, the man has more political lives than a Time Lord, so Italian political system will be like the US, while in Italy it looks like the Berlusconi Party will have a narrow lead in the Senate, in the US the Republicans hold the House, thus the present budget crisis.  It was reported that if the results come out as expected, that the left take the lower House of Parliament and form they Government they will find it difficult to get their agenda passed the Senate.   Thus Italy will be back in the spotlight, expect the Italian markets to take a hit, and expect the new Italian Government to ask for a further bailout and less of austerity.  Thus the joke that is Italian politics carries on, what would Augustus say, look down in sadness would be the guess folks.

Obama and Tax Hikes - 2nd Obama Term

BBC News: Reports how President Obama is stressing that the expected Budget cuts that come in to force on Friday will lead to job losses in education and defence.

Lets Get Real:

Thus the usual liberal blackmail folks, what really worries the Oval is the fact that defence cuts can be restored, while welfare cuts are harder to restore in the present political climate, the Oval knows that if the Budget cuts come in to force and the Republican House does not accept new tax hikes they will have the Oval over a barrel, the House will have shown that it will stand up to the Oval and at the end of the day the Oval is the Chief Executive of the US, the Congress is just the board, who recalls the name of the Board.   The Republican House should stand its ground, if they do the Oval will know that it will have to deal, and this means welfare cuts and this will really drive liberals up the wall.    If you listen to the Oval it sounds like the end of the world, the entire social structure of the US will fall apart, what will happen should the House agree to tax hikes is that the Oval and the Democrats will add trillions to the US debt, they are never going to agree to tax cuts because they want too, they will only agree under political pressure, so House Republicans stick to the Reagan Agenda, no tax hikes, and smaller Government and make the Oval eat it, that is the Chicago  way.
