Hammond and the Big Digital Companies - Budget Update 4 - May Era

Lets Get Real:

Even the LEFT will like the FACT that Chancellor Hammond has announced a special tax on the digital giants, it is about time that they paid more, they are getting far to much profit, some of that could be used for the NHS, Defence and tax cuts.   The left NEVER like Conservative budgets, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the press and the 24/7 news networks.  As I stated with the US, it is the same in the UK, everything is political.  A Budget even more so.   This blog thinks that the Budget will appeal to workers, tax cuts, cuts in beer, a freeze on fuel charges.  Also welfare gets more funds, what is not to like.

Budget - Update 3 - May Era

Lets Get Real:

One would be surprised if many Conservatives rebel against the Budget, the Chancellor hit all the marks, income tax cuts, increase spending on the NHS, Welfare State and important to the Conservative right, defence spending was increased.   This is the kind of budget that Conservative MPs can sell, one constant moan was that welfare needed more money, that has been done by this budget.  As said in previous post, let's see the small print, it is always the small print that gets you.

The Budget - Update 2 - May Era

Lets Get Real:

This is Budget is for workers, those that actually vote, one good aspect in the increase in the National Living Wage from £7.83 to £8.21 an hour from April 2019, welfare should not be a choice, welfare should be the last safety net, the Conservatives are making an appeal to Middle England, the Labour Party was never going to support the budget, they will try to block it, it will be interesting to see what the DUP do with their votes.  There could be an early election.

The End of Austerity in the UK - May Era

Lets Get Real:

This was a FEEL GOOD BUDGET, lets see after a few days what the small print says, past Budgets have fallen apart because of a unseen political cost.   There are tax cuts, well the level you pay tax goes up, for the middle class and the rich ( they tend to vote ) also a freeze on fuel hikes, also a freeze on the cost of beer.   The Chancellor stated yesterday that should there be no EU deal then another Budget might have to take place, this was reversed by No 10.  The promises in the Budget will go forward.   Of course the Labour Party opposed, they promise a lot, but also wreck the economy when they get in, thus 2010.  It will be interesting to see the political polls after a few days.

Doctor Who Review - Doctor Who: Arachnids In The UK

Lets Get Real:

" My Hotel, My Rules " So says the Chris Noth character, what a great show, this was Doctor Who is full monster mode, of course it was down to a human billionaire, not that far removed from President Trump, even down to washing his hands a lot ( we with OCD do not what to be represented by Donald Trump ).   The Doctor landed in Sheffield to return his new companions, if was to be seen that the Doctor did not want them to leave, so went for Tea with the family of one companion, the Doctor doing small talk was fun, Doctor with a flat, that would not work, the TARDIS would not be happy!! Also it was fun to see the family one of the companions assume that she was either gay as in dating the Doctor or had hitched up with the other companion.   Then we see how the Spiders developed, spoiler alert, the Doctor was fast to see the links, thus we come to the Hotel, the Hotel was built over old mining works, thus enter the Chris North character, he had sharp lines, was funny, a coward, but also the one at the end that gave the spider a merciful death with a gun, the Doctor objected, thus the above line. In a odd way you liked the Noth character, that was not the intention, but he had something.  The Doctor Who writers have to bring him back as POTUS, that would be fun.   The Doctor is not God, and he/she seems not understand Democracy, it would be good to see a POTUS North say, " My Country, my rules ".   Thus a great show by the cast and guest stars and writers, keep making this good and the Doctor will be around for a few good years.

Trump on Today's terror attempts - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

At last POTUS is acting Presidential, one wonders will he tone down  his attacks on Democrats and the media, of course the question is how long can keep himself quiet, there are the Mid Terms coming up, he does not want to lose the House or Senate, he favourite targets are HRC and the uber liberal press, one can postulate that his attacks on the media such as CNN have been seen by those on the extreme right as giving a green light for such terror actions.   This is of course what the media will say, then the opposition forces will go back to fighting on the airwaves and on social media.   Everything these days is POLITICAL.

May and her Conservative MPs - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus IF PM May can get a deal from the EU in November or December she has to get it through her Cabinet and then the House of Commons.   As this blog supports Brexit the main prize is that the UK leaves the EU in March 2019, everything after that is open to debate.   The PM needs to get a deal that looks good to some of Labour MPs, they ALL won't support a straight rejection, if she can pick up around 50 that would counter balance any losses she would face from the Conservative Party and the DUP.   Thus endless more days about Brexit and every week will be a crisis moment for the PM.   This blogger just wants it to finish, it seems that Brexit has gone longer than some Wars.

PM May and her BackBench MPs - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus the PM has gotten through another crucial meeting, she is still PM, the questions that has to be asked, are the MPs being nice to her because they support her or do they see her as finished and do not want to add to her problems.   In 1997 Sir John Major was treated well by the voters, they and made up their minds to vote for the new kid on the block, that being Tony Blair, thus they did not give Major a hard time when he was out campaigning.  The question is how many letters have gone to the Chairman of the 1922 Committee asking for a vote of confidence in PM May, it could be argued that it would be foolish to have the vote while No 10 is in talks with the EU, but then Conservative MPs are not your normal voters at the best of time.   It only takes 48 Conservative MPs asking for a vote for a vote to take place.    Those that thought that PM May would FALL have been shown to be wrong with their predictions, their use of words might have helped the PM, one only hopes that the PM gets a semi good deal from the EU or the MPs will be back in their attempt to remove the PM.

Terror Threats to Bill & Hillary Clinton, President Obama and Others - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The FBI, Homeland Security and other US intelligence and law enforcement agencies will be after the terrorists would sent these bombs.   The threats were aimed at Democrats or those supporting Democrats, thus one has to assume that the would be terrorists are loony right wing extremists.   The FACT that the White House was not a target points the finger at the extreme right.   One would hope the FBI, State and local Police Forces will catch these terrorists and throw them in to jail and throw away the key.   A Democracy is about debate, even heated debate, but the use of terrorism can never be accepted.    NOW let's get to the politics, this brazen terrorist attack should get the liberal base out, also one can expect the liberal press to be ALL over the issue.  This is a say day for US Democracy, thank goodness for the US secret service and other Police authorities.

Reagan and Gorbachev's INF Treaty - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The Russians have been wanting to get out of the INF Treaty for years, this break with the Treaty by the USA will go down well with Putin's Russia.  Former President Gorbachev has come out against the move, one does wonder what the late President Ronald Reagan would have thought, it can could be argued that Reagan would have supported Trump, when he was a candidate he opposed other deals made by US Presidents and the then USSR.  As Putin's Russia has been cheating for YEARS.   The mainstream liberal press will not be happy, it does show that Trump can be tough on Russia, that is good before the November Mid Tems.

PM May and the House of Commons - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM will be interested to read the papers tomorrow, will they support her or back a new leader.   The UK voter just wants the EU finished with, it's going on for months.   If the extension gets us out of Europe and gets a deal with EU then it is worth thinking about.  The question is the cost, how many more billions will it cost the UK.  On Wednesday the PM faces the 1922 Committee, will they support her or will the Party need a new leader by Christmas.  Interesting few hours and days for the PM.

PM May in the House of Commons - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus the PM says 95% of the withdrawal agreement is agree, the sticking point is the other 5%, and that is Northern Ireland.  The PM will face the 1922 Committee on Wednesday, that could be the point that the PM find her time is up, she needs her MPs to keep their nerve, but she has being saying that for ages, and we still do not have a deal with EU.   The PM has to make clear that she is a bloody difficult woman ( her own words ) and make it clear to her MPs she will fight for on, that it will take a vote to get rid of her and who else have they as a leader.    This COULD be a critical week for the PM.

Rosa - Doctor Who Review

Lets Get Real:

This was a fine historical episode, alright it might have been a bit preachy, but that is not a BAD THING, the racism faced by African Americans in the 1950s should always be retold.  The HEROIC ACT of Rosa Parks showed the racism of the South and how it was backed up by illegal laws.  All the cast gave a great performance, there was a sci aspect, it is Doctor Who after all, but did not damage the point of the story.  This episode should be shown in Schools as a historical example of what happened and should show what TV can do, there is a reason to watch Sunday's again.

The DUP and May's Brexit Plan - Brexit Update 4 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

As can be seen by the right wing papers they are opposed to an extension of the transition period, one can assume that members of the Cabinet will also be opposed to any more concessions.  The FACT is that the PM will face a CHOICE, sooner or later, there is only so much road let, will there be a deal or NO DEAL.   The PM should pick the no deal option.  Otherwise she might find that she is out of the office and out of power.

Hard Brexit Supporters backlash to transition extension - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus us news junkies could face another eight weeks of Brexit talks, if that does not send you to sleep nothing will.   The PM will need to keep her Cabinet together, find some kind of words that work for the Cabinet, the House of Commons, the EU and the Republic of Ireland.   The two sides want different things, the EU wants to punish the UK for leaving their beloved EU while the UK wants the benefits of the EU while not being in the EU.   One would think that the highly paid diplomats would have gotten some idea on how to do this,  after all this is THEIR job.   As stated the blog wants the PM to pull the plug on the EU, why is she keeping trying, there is no good solution.

No EU Summit in November - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

From Sky News reporting it seems we are heading for a Summit in December, as the EU Brexit team needs more than just a couple of weeks. This is the EU and the UK pushing the problem down the road in till the New Year. Those in Parliament will think that they are being pushed to agree to any agreement that comes down the road, there will be no time for real debate on the issues. Thus you can expect more problems for the UK Government when it comes to the HARD BREXIT SUPPORTERS and the HARD REMAINERS. These endless talks almost seem drive to drive you nuts!!!

The Anti Climax of the EU Summit - Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This last few days were meant to see the end of the Brexit talks, today was the day that the EU was meant to green light a Summit in November, that might still happen, but more to agree a road map for the prospect of a NO DEAL.    This Brexit junkie is lucky that he has a psychologist and medicated tablets, how the news reporters cope with sudden surge and then nothing at the end, it must be depressing.   This blogger has suggested that the PM just say it's going to be a NO DEAL and give the money that was going to the EU to the NHS.   It is time to show Europe that we do not need them, they need us more than we need them, God help the Eastern European Countries if Russia makes a move, do they expect help from the French.

The Backstop of the Backstop ? - Brexit Update 4 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This blog never tends to praise the Guardian, but on this one subject it must be applauded, in article it explains the backstop of the backstop in a clear manner and the political problems with the issue.   The UK Government under PM May needs the DUP to stay in power, thus it can not give way, and even then if there is an agreement the PM would need to get the hard remainers and hard brexit supporters on board, not an easy task.   The Chief Whip will have to put his phone on and use the dark arts of the House of Cards ( UK version ) to make sure the MPs are whipped in to the right voting area.   The prize of Brexit must not be LOST, hard Brexit supporters should give  a little, the prize is the UK out of the EU.

PM May and the House of Commons - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM should place pressure on the Eastern European Countries, remind them who will they for help should they come under attack from Putin's Russia.   The EU will talk but will do nothing to defend Eastern Europe, do you trust the French to come to your military assistance, or the Italians, it will be the US and the UK that would be needed to defend the Eastern European Countries in Eastern Europe.   Also the PM should make it VERY CLEAR that we will remember who was with us when we needed it, this is a crisis point, a real one, also the PM should make clear that will will not give 1 pence to the EU if they play games.   Do you see the French giving money to anyone, the German taxpayer is tired of being the Bank for the EU, thus the recent loses by the German Government.   This is the time to play hardball, very hardball, 2nd does not count.

Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM must be wondering why she wanted to become PM, all her routes out of the EU problems costs her, if she allows Northern Ireland to be treated differently that the rest of the UK then she loses the DUP, if she does not set a deadline for when the UK cuts official ties with the EU she loses the hard remainers and hard brexit supporters. In harsh political terms, the PM is up the Creek, the EU either do not understand or no not care that their manner could lead to a no deal result. The PM has to be tough, she should go for a NO DEAL and force her small hard remainers to bring the Government or go to the Country and sell a no deal plan. When the sharks are after you and they smell blood in the water it is better to get on to the biggest boat you can and wack them back if you have too, ( real sharks get to much bad press, I blame Jaws ) Political time is running out for the PM and the Government.

PM May on Brexit - Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM is fast losing the House of Commons, watching the Statement one got the impression that the only figure to believe in the May Brexit plan was the PM, the Speaker kept calling hard Remainers from the Conservative and Labour ranks.   They want a 2nd Brexit, what they really want to do is reverse Brexit.   If Theresa May wants to stay as PM she has to make a political choice who can she tell to get LOST.  If the wants to remain leader of the Conservative Party she has to keep the hard brexit supporters in line, she can afford to tell the remainers to get lost, they do not have the numbers to get rid of her, and one of them stated that he would not even vote for a deal if it was agreed by the EU and the UK.   There is an old saying, when you are in a hole, stop digging.   The next few days are going to be interesting.   As to the backstop of the backstop, there is simple answer, Northern Ireland is part of the UK and will leave with the UK when we end ties with the EU, there cannot be a deal that cuts Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK.

May's Sellout of the Brexit Voters - Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The May Government is selling out the Brexit voters, the transition deal should be limited, and the UK should no longer be taking regulations from the EU and giving them billions.  The Brexit hardliners have to come out in force to reject this deal, some of the hard Brexit Cabinet Ministers should resign.  This is BREXIT in name only, the Conservatives elites have sold OUT THE UK VOTER.    The Hard Brexit MPs should support a leadership challenge against PM May.   This is a SAD DAY for DEMOCRACY.

Ireland and Brexit - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The EU and the UK has to remind the Irish who gave them money when they were broke.  The Irish can not be the tail that wags the dog, the EU and the UK need a deal that be be bought by the EU 27 and the House of Commons.   The UK has to be firm with the Irish, they get to come to the UK with no questions, the UK could start to play up, what if Irish citizens needs a VISA  to come to the UK, in other words play hardball and see how fast Dublin turns over.   The Brexit talks are in their final two weeks, let's hope ALL sides want a deal.  IF the EU and Ireland play up then the UK should go for a HARD BREXIT, that should make the EU and Dublin Sweat!!

A Customs Union or The Customs Union - update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM has to keep her Cabinet together, when it comes to a choice, upsetting her CABINET or the EU then the choice is CLEAR, the PM has to tell the EU to get lost.  The May Government can not afford to lose any more Cabinet Ministers, also the PM has to keep the DUP on side, the next two weeks are critical, it could either lead to a deal or a HARD BREXIT.    This blog is giving the PM the benefit of the doubt, lets hope she does not FAIL.    The main points for this blog is the following, there must be no permanent customs union, the UK should be out by a fixed date, in that Northern Ireland is treated the same way as the rest of the UK, the divorce bill should not be in the billions, the EU Court should no longer have power over the UK Courts, no more EU regulations, the UK can do it's own trade deals.   The UK would be a sovereign power again.

The Hard Remainers and Brexit - Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The Hard Remainers are playing games again, they are now threaten to vote against the Brexit plan of PM May.   This blog can only see one out for the PM, that is a General Election or managing to get pro EU Labour MPs to vote for her plan.   There seems no majority for anything in the House of Commons, the Conservatives must prevent a 2nd Brexit vote, this would be an attempt to reverse Brexit by the uber elite of the Conservatives and the Labour Party.  Time is running out for the PM.

Brexit Divorce - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Any divorced deal should be in the low billions, not tens of billions, any deal should not to damage to the UK or Northern Irish economy.   The UK must be allowed to do its own trade deals, the UK can not become a colony of the EU.   The European Court should no longer have powers over UK Courts, also no more regulations from the EU.   The House of Parliament should be the Sovereign power in the UK.   Let's see if this deal takes the above course or not, otherwise the hard Brexit supporters and this blog will oppose any deal.

Brexit and the DUP - Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

PM May has to keep the DUP abroad, if that means a HARD BREXIT, so let it be, the Conservative Government needs the support of the DUP to keep in power and to pass laws in the House of Commons.   The DUP are not playing games, if they see a risk to the status of Northern Ireland they will pull the plug on May and the Government.  The May Government has to get an agreement that covers ALL THE UK, otherwise the Brexit plans could be a disaster and we could face a 2nd Brexit vote.  No 10 has to be clever, they should keep the DUP close, they can not afford to play games.

Brexit Latest - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The UK should go for a HARD BREXIT, then we can make deals with Japan and other Countries such as the USA.   The hard remainers will never be pleased, the May Government should take the their lead from the Hard Brexit MPs within the Conservative Party and the Labour Party.   The EU is playing poker, they are sending out good news vibes in the hopes of pushing the UK Government to make more concessions.  The UK has to stand tall and firm, we  have to be stubborn.   The UK has dealt with worse, WW1, WW2 and the end of the British Empire, we are quite ready to go it alone.

Lets Get Real:

The PM is right to be cautions, the EU could be trying to sell a dud deal to those remainers within the Conservative Party and within Labour.   The PM has to have a deal that she can sell to the House of Commons and the rest of the UK.  The SNP is up to its usual tricks, it now wants a vote on the final deal, what it really wants is to break up the UK, that goes for Plaid Cymru also.   The PM wants a DEAL that she can sell, the EU should see that before it is to late.

Justice Kavanaugh on the Bench - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

This blog is happy that Justice Kavanaugh was confirmed and has been sworn on to the bench, but Republicans and Conservatives have to be careful, the Democrats in the House have said that they might try to impeach the Justice, Republicans and Conservatives need to vote in the November elections.   The Democrats will try anything to subvert the Supreme Court, as one Democratic  Senator has said, an accused must prove he is innocent, not the other way around.   The Republican Party and the President need to get the VOTE out, the Democrats could still win the House, and try to subvert the Trump Agenda.

Jodie Whittaker IS the Doctor - The Woman Who Fell to Earth - Doctor Who Review

Doctor Who News: Reports " Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell to Earth was watched by 8.2 million viewers, a share of 40.1% of the total TV audience, according to unofficial overnight figures  "

Lets Get Real:

This was a great opener for a new Doctor, Jodie Whittaker IS the Doctor, she was funny, clever, brave, witty, but also had aspects of her previous incarnations.   This blog does not do spoilers, lets just say that this train traveller has never had a Time Lord fall through the roof.   The Doctor and the rest of the cast were great, the extended show allowed the characters to become real, even if it was a alien invasion of the North.  This fan who had his concerns has been won over the by new Doctor, one flaw, the outfit, not as bad as the Sixth Doctor but close, the Doctor normally has better dress sense, well no one is perfect, male or female.

The Latest in the Brexit Talks - Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM has to keep her nerve, that also goes for the UK Cabinet, the EU is playing hardball, they are trying to play on the divisions with in the Conservative Party and the UK.   The PM has been tough of late, she has to keep to her plans, the EU would be worse off without the monies from the UK.   The PM has to make it clear, that she needs a plan that she can get through the House of Commons, not one that passes the EU.  There will be more stories like this over the next few weeks, the EU is playing poker, it wants the UK to fold, the UK never folds.    The idea of giving the EU control of Northern Ireland is a non starter with the PM and the DUP, the EU has to get that FACT.

Kavanaugh Update 2 - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

One can only hope that Senator Collins is right when she said that Judge Kavanaugh is a moderate compared to what the critics have said.  It was interesting watching the news networks that none argued with her review of the Judicial record of the Judge.  This is what happens when the networks are taken over by the uber left wing elite.  One can only hope that there are no more problems on the route of the Judge to the Supreme Court.

The Kavanaugh Confirmation hearing - Final Round on Saturday - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

This is a GOOD day for Justice, the confirmation hearings of Judge Kavanaugh have turned nasty, supporters have followed their political parties, if your a Republican you support Kavanaugh and see the allegations as a way to smear a Conservative Judge, if your a liberal, you do not care about the truth, you just want to destroy the Judge.   The time in College or University should be about learning, if your straight, gay, or something in between, of course sexual relationships should be about consent, no will will argue against that, the point is when you bring an allegation after nearly 40 years, that does rise questions, one is innocent before one is found guilty by a Court.  This battle is part of the culture wars, there will be other battles.

The Road Map to the UK leaving the EU - Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

An interesting article by the Guardian, it goes through the important dates on the UK/EU talks.   It will be interesting to see if the UK and EU can get a deal, it could go either way, the PM can not make any more concessions to the EU, the Conservative Party will not wear it and it will not get passed the House of Commons.  One can expect the left wing press to go to town over the next few weeks, they will support anything coming out of the EU and will be negative on the UK stand.   Hold your hats it's going going to be fun!!

The President vs. the Kavanaugh Accuser - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

In modern American culture we have the snowflake generation, they do not want to hear Conservative arguments, they think ALL men have the ability to be rapists or attackers.   The question I ask, if Kavanaugh was a liberal Nominee would the accuser have come forward and why didn't she come forward when the Judge was nominated for lesser Courts.   An allegation of sexual assault is serious, but there must some kind of evidence to back it up, you can not destroy someone who has had a perfect record throughout his life but then someone comes up with allegation from over thirty years ago.    The President won the election in 2016, the Democrats are fighting the culture wars, they are fighting in the trenches, the right must fight back.

Conservative Party Conference - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

After Brexit the Conservative Party should return to its roots, low taxes, strong government, strong defence, allow the young to rent or buy homes, place pressure on the multi national companies to pay more in tax, instead of sending money to the EU it should divert it to the NHS.    The PM was good when she was attacking Jeremy Corbyn, there needs to be more of that, and not the internal warfare within the Conservative Party.   Lets get BREXIT DONE.  Lets win for Lady Thatcher.

The Final Day of the Conservative Party Conference - PM Speech - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The speech by the PM was good, it was not a high bar after the disaster of last year's conference.   The PM returned to bread and butter issues, Brexit is not the only issue outstanding.   After Brexit the PM promised that there would be an end to austerity, also more money for the NHS and more house building.  As for Brexit the PM is keeping to her guns, she is waiting for the EU to respond.  There is always a risk of a no Brexit deal.   This speech will buy the PM a few days without getting a roasting from her backbench MPs, but no long, the Country needs to know if there will be a deal by the end of October, the PM mentioned World War 1 and 2, and how the UK came together in rough times, is the PM sending a warning that there could be no deal and there will be problems.   It is going to be an interesting month.

The EU and Brexit - Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The left wing Guardian takes the side of the EU when it comes to Brexit, they are in the same camp as the BBC and Sky News.   Anything that the EU says is positive while the British side is seen as stubborn.   Those that support a clean Brexit have to come out fighting.   The PM's speech to the Conservative Conference on Wednesday should be interesting, will she show that she can change her Brexit plan or are we in for weeks of in fighting in the Conservative Party and between the EU and the UK.   Ah for March 2019 when we are out of the EU.

The Kavanaugh Investigation - Update - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The memory is a fickle thing, we change it as to keep in line with who we think we are, that can be negative and positive, so to the Kavanaugh case, this blog thinks that elections has results, Trump wants Kavanaugh on the bench, the Conservative voters wants him on the bench, it is just liberals who are trying to STOP him and will use anything they can to STOP him.  IF you have ever been to University or College you know that drinking goes on, it is were you learn to be a semi adult before you enter the work place.   Anyone can make allegations, if they are true is another matter, so far there is not enough to stop Kavanaugh becoming a Judge on the Supreme Court.

Even a light bulb sometimes crashes - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Sky News: Reports " Philip Hammond compares Theresa May's Brexit plan to the light bulb...The chancellor calls on colleagues to back the PM's Chequers plan, saying there will be a "deal dividend" for the economy. "

Lets Get Real:

The elite left wing press will have a field day with the light bulb comment, they will show flicking lights going off with Brexit.   As stated the Chancellor has a tin year, no wonder the PM wanted to sack him before the General Election.    The PM should go for a Canada free trade deal plus plus with the EU, this would have majority support with Conservative MPs and a few brave Labour MPs. The question is will the PM move or will she have to be overthrown.    These days UK politics is not boring!!

The Conservative Party Conference - May Era

Lets Get Real:

The Chancellor is right but he has a tin year when it comes to politics, he wants to remain close to the EU, while a majority of the Conservative Party wants to leave and have a very long distance relationship with the EU.   The most interesting speech will be the one given by the PM, will she keep to her Brexit plan or is she open to a canada free trade deal plus plus with the EU.   On the whole the Cabinet has kept together, they have supported the PM, but a month is a long time in politics, let's see what happens over the next few weeks.
