What is Labour's stand on Brexit - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

In essence the Labour Party is trying to keep its factions on the same page, northern votes who voted to leave the EU will not be happy if Labour tried to prevent Brexit, while Hard remainers want to keep the UK in the EU.   The new EEA plus as devised by the labour leadership has no chance with the EU, its a fantasy idea, as they are the opposition not the government.  Next Tuesday will be fun and games in the House of Commons, both whips will be under pressure to keep the sheep, sorry MPs in line, and the Whips do not have dogs!!!

Labour divided over Brexit - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus both of the main political parties in the House of Commons are split, in the Conservative Party you have hard remainers, who will vote to remain in the Customs Union and the Single Market, while on the Labour side you have the old Blair fraction that want to stay in the customs union and the single market, while the leadership wants a EEA plus, a new deal between the UK and the EU.  It will be interesting to see the outcome, one can say that the Customs Union will pass, while the single market might be a problem, it is a  matter of getting into the weeds of the Brexit Bill, clause by clause!!

May on the robes when it comes to PMQs - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The PM was on the back foot when it comes to Brexit, the PM needs to be brave, make a decision and fight for it, the present weakness allows Jeremy Corbyn to outgun her when it comes to PMQs and it does nothing to get support from the Conservative backbenchers.  The PM should make a choice, hard or soft Brexit and stick to it, even with the threat of a General Election, that should put the fear of God in to MPs who oppose her.  Not a good day for Brexit supporters, good day for Labour supporters even if they know in their heart of hearts that Corbyn is really a hard Brexit supporter.   The Labour view is a fantasy, they think that they can get a EEA plus out of the EU, allow the Government to restrict movement and allow a new Labour government to take over industries!!

Corbyn takes on May over Brexit - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Today was not great for the PM, the Opposition leader had her on the ropes, the only good thing for the Government was the statement by Labour that they would not support the Lords Amendment to keep the UK in the EEA, the EEA stands for the European Economic Area, Norway is a member, it is a rule taker not a rule maker.  The Labour Party thinks it can have its cake and eat it, it wants to a new EEA, one that allows the UK to control migration and allow the Government to fund different industries, the EU has made it clear that is a non starter.    The votes will be close on June 12, it can be postulated that the UK will remain in the Customs Union but not the single market, well not THE Single Market, it could get very confusing !
